400 miles of high-speed rail tracks between the Bay Area and Southern California. Just where I would want to be, doing 200 MPH when an earthquake hits...

"Just when we think we've seen the worst from this governor, we find yet a new bottom," Simon told a press conference I'm sure Davis hasn't bottomed out yet.
To: Oldeconomybuyer
We have a very strict policy of keeping politics separate from the campaign.Whoever came up with this line is a real yogurt-brain.

Methinks Davis got wind of the Freep and, moreso, that Simon was coming. You know it killed him to walk away from all of that money. Poor thing. *spit*

FREEP is STILL ON!... Show your support for Simon and be there if you can!
Bill Simon is going pedal to the metal today in calling attention to Gray Davis as a "Governor for Sale" outside a Gray Davis fundraiser! We need phone calls made to Republican friends in South Bay right away to make sure he has a crowd of supporters. Please make two or three calls as a very important contribution to the campaign today.
Supporters should arrive at 3:45.... for a 4 pm Simon appearance.
870 Camino Drive
Santa Clara
Some sketchy directions:
If you're heading south on 880, you would take Bascom North exit, go north, (which I believe is right), and make your third right on Camino Drive.

Good for you and thank you for your service to the state and its citizens. Don't forget to call the press as well. ;^)

Do you believe that he won't get the money anyway? Do you think those companies want to go through additional licensing and review (of course with $$$$$ fees) procedures?
To: Oldeconomybuyer
Cancelled two hours before, which means that if there were tickets involved, he already had the money in his bank anyway.

True. I'll give it one week--or tomorrow if the next report isn't due until after the election...

Hold on a minute. When did Davis develop a sense of shame?
To: Oldeconomybuyer
I guess Gray couldn't get the hot pants, tubetop, and pancake makeup on in time to sell himself to another group.
To: Oldeconomybuyer
Davis will not accept money from the fund-raiser, if checks have already been written, Salazar said. Yeah, right. Not this from a man who was pulled kicking and screaming into returning a $25,000 Oracle check.

I'm sure Davis hasn't bottomed out yet. No, he hasn't. That will be when he's convicted of quid pro quo, campaign fraud, and bribery and sentenced to 10-20 in federal prison.

"We have a very strict policy of keeping politics separate from the campaign. Under the circumstances, the governor didn't think it was appropriate" Davis campaign Press Secretary Roger Salazar said less than two hours before the fund-raiser was supposed to begin. The fund-raiser was planned at the Santa Clara home of Rod Diridon, the Davis-appointed chairman of the California High Speed Rail Authority.
When was the fundraiser planned? The governor didn't think it was appropriate to ATTEND the fundraiser -- why didn't he think it was inappropriate to plan the thing in the first place?
