I attended a town meeting with Specter last month. The first question he got was on the Iraqi-OKC connection. Rather than brushing off the lady as a rightwing kook, his reply was both respectful and encouraging. What he's doing now is apparently following up on his promise to that lady to look into it.

While I don't agree with the gentleman's views on many issues, I must say I came away impressed with the way he handled the mouthy leftists who tried to dominate the Q&A.

Despite his history, I am willing to give him a chance and not be cynical on this issue because he seems genuine. We will see.
