No one thought anything about Simon when he was campaigning against Riordan and LOOK what HAPPENED (did't Guiliani stump for Simon about 3 weeks before the primary?)...I am hopeful for all my friends and family and good folks in California to be saved from the greedy, corrupt clutches of Gray Davis! GO SIMON~

More credit to Giuliani. He doesn't put his finger to the wind before he commits himself. He gives his word and he keeps it.

Right. And what makes me happy is that Rudy is paying his dues to the Republican party by doing this, and will be running for office himself again soon, I hope. I would love to see him run against Hillary for president in 2008. Too wonderful for words.

Rudy should forget this loser and go campaign for Forrester. At least he has a chance in hell.

Forrester should drop out. There's still time for Rudy to register in NJ and run!!

There I said it. Wow, I've been dying to do that to the st*pid-*sses who think they can understand California politics by reading the WashPost and NY Times.

I love the picture on your space, the Big R - "Hey, Bill, I want to talk to you!"

That is great! The Clintoon did indeed need to be taken out behind the wood shed - and RR would have been my choice to do it! Classic.

I'm not all that happy with Simon's performance either. However, remember, the media is 100% anti-Simon. Every poll is suspect. Even if Davis does lead by "15 points" (highly dubious), he's got to get his voters to the polls. NO ONE likes Davis, not even the hard-left in his own party. A lot of folks just won't hold their nose and vote Davis, if they feel Simon is not a real threat. They'll protest and stay home.

The bad news is that the 1/3 of GOPers who identify themselves as "moderate" (i.e. pro-choice, etc.) will vote for any Democrat before they vote for a conservative. But you never know, even they might see a bit of wisdom in getting rid of Davis (200% electricity hikes, double annual vehicle tag fees (average $550), and other penalties may make a difference).

Bottom line: If the GOP turns out the vote, Davis hasn't got a chance. He's pissed off too many Democrats, and put this state in debt for the next 20 years.

Every event Simon has had in LA has had union protesters. While I trust Freepers implicitly, anyone can come to this site to lurk. Why help them? That's all.

In Beverly Hills we showed up to protest. Tow hours or so later the union boys showed up. We left. Within ten minutes, they did too.

I think it's pretty evident they're tuned in to our activities.

Simon has made some minor mistakes, but if he loses, I think there will be three reasons. a) California is now so liberal even Gray Davis can't turn them off; b) The imposed head of the California Republican Party has done a miserable job raising money, which was supposed to be what he excelled at; c) The media in California are so twisted it's virtually impossible for Simon to get any positive exposure.

Reason #4

Simon's handlers should be shot. I fail to see how the campaign could possibly have been run any worse. Simon was always on the defensive. His positions flip-flopped and were not well established before public release. He went after small electoral segments (Log Cabins) at the expense of much larger ones (Conservative Christians). Pathetic is the operative word. It's so bad, it's like they were on Davis' payroll. Hopefully they are blacklisted as traitors and never work in GOP politics again.

Meet Rudy Giuliani in San Francisco

By Leo Lacayo
Chronwatch.com
Saturday, October 12, 2002

Would you like to meet the Republican mayor who heroically pulled New York together on 9-11? There are a number of alternatives: You can spend a hundred thousand and hire him to speak at your place of business, event, or fundraiser, or spend ten grand and attend a dinner where he is the featured speaker. Of course, you could always just fly to New York and hang around the city but if you are like me and on a budget, then you could meet him in San Francisco for the less than twenty dollars!

Mayor Giuliani will be in San Francisco on Columbus Day, this coming Monday, October 14. He will be signing his latest book at Borders (Union Square, Powell Street just north of Post a few paces from the Disney Store). The book, entitled ''Leadership,'' is a great gift, and mandatory reading for people interested in what this famous politician has to say. I intend to buy several as Christmas gifts as well as for my own enlightenment.

If he's such a loser, why are you constantly around on every Simon thread, never hesitating to make negative comments? If he's such a loser, certainly you can find better things to do with your time.

And - my favorite question that never seems to get answered - if Simon's such a loser, why can't ol' Gray break 45% in the polls?
