Seeing as how you're in Los Angeles, it should be quite easy for you to volunteer some time and show them how to properly conduct a campaign. Would you like a number to call, or a staffer to E-mail? Oh no. I'm sure someone with your initiative has already taken the necessary steps. Do let me know how things go!! [smiling sweetly]

From the "Bill & Rudy in Burbank" post-FReep thread:
Waiting now for RonDog's and DavidDennis' reports. FReep On! - Angelwood
You will have to wait a little longer for the FULL report, as I am VERY TIRED now!
Just got back from riding the Simon bus down to San Diego (and back!) - for PART TWO of the Bill & Rudy show there.
More later, but you would be VERY PROUD of the way that we faced down the union thugs that were BLOCKING THE ENTRANCE to the parking lot of the Burbank Hilton.
Following the the footsteps of our mentors in the DC Chapter, we FIRMLY (but professionally) flanked their position blocking the driveway, spreading out OUR forces - with OUR signs - all along the entrance road leading up to the driveway that they were blocking, so that they had to give up THAT position to try and counter our strategic advantage in sign visibiliity to incoming trafiic.
More later, but we "busted them up" - emotionally, and psychologically - but NOT physically - and enlisted the aid of many not-yet-FReepers in our cause.
Like bullies EVERYWHERE, when confronted with righteous determination by the forces of GOOD, they backed down!
I have seen these EXACT SAME union thugs now at MANY events, but every time they see us, we have NEW faces, and NEW signs, and NEW tactics!

This is ONE of the reasons why Bill Simon WILL win:

OUR side has PASSION, and the courage of our convictions.
THEIR side has cushy, overpaid UNION jobs - protected by a political machine - but THEY KNOW that they are not really worth the money that they demand, and that THEIR guy is a bribe-taking whore.
WE have the power, and THEY know it!
As one of the folks on the bus said later, "If they really believed that the Simon campaign is DEAD (again) after this bogus check photo snafu, why did they send out SO MANY union goons to disrupt our rally?"
We got the RATs on the run, and they KNOW it!

Much more, LATER...

With zero experience I could have done a much better job that Simon's handlers. [smiling sweetly] I have a friend who is a handler and he has said as much. He quit the Simon campaign 4 months ago in disgust.

The best I can do now for Simon is vote for him and hope that his current handlers are not rewarded with jobs in the new administration. If he wins it will be because the voters figure out how morally bankrupt Davis is.

So in other words, you're not doing anything.

I'm shocked! Never would have guessed that. [cough, cough]

Because Davis is almost as bad as Simon. Davis is so unpopular that someone actually asked him why he is hated so much at the last debate. But Simon just sucks as a candidate. And I go to all the election threads as is my right.

Your right?? LOL

So, I'm still waiting for an answer. You call Simon a loser, yet you agree that the incumbent is despised and therefore his numbers stink (he averages 41% in his last ten polls). So how does an incumbent with "loser" re-elect numbers equate to a "loser" challenger?

It's really pretty simple. The undecideds stay home and the "loser" governor gets another term because he's ahead of Simon among those who will actually vote. You're so brilliant, why couldn't you figure that out?

You forgot one little thing. Turnout among those most likely to vote. It's real easy to answer your phone. It's another thing to show up on Election Day. Since you are much more brilliant than I, who do you think might be more likely to vote in November - folks who like their current governor, or folks who want change?

And don't worry too much about the undecideds. If they haven't made up their minds by now, especially in this race, they probably won't show up in significant numbers.

Just for your information, I believe Simon has much more integrity than most who seek elective office and certainly orders of magnitude more than Davis. I am, however, saddened by the lack of support from the California GOP as well as the poor performance by his handlers. I will vote for him, but as a candidate he has not inspired me as did candidate Ronald Reagan, who stood by his convictions and did not allow his handlers to mold him in to a "politically correct" candidate for California.

Because the only person more despised than Davis, is Simon. If any other incumbent had so high a disaproval number, they'd be toast. But becuase Simon has run so miserable a campaign, he can't capitalize on it. Davis' numbers suck, but Simons are worse. I really hope he wins, I just think that you could not have scripted a worse job at running a campaign.

Not a chance. Simon's hurting as far as credibility, no doubt. But as far as corruption and personality, he's got Davis beat hands down.
