ouch, what a poll ... fair warning: This is a REGISTERED VOTERS poll, and was asked to FORCE A CHOICE.
Biased to favor Davis. Still, sad that Simon couldnt do better here.
Key question: Why has Simon LOST GROUND since July 30? and why has he lost ground among republicans?

I also heard Bill Simon mention a poll last week, possibly paid for by White House people, where he was within 1-2% with Davis. I think their internal polling also showed that the "Davis accepting a check from Angele" photos hurt Davis, even though the actual photographed transaction was legal. It reminded everyone of Davis'
quid pro quo governance and sleazy methods of political extortion.
I wish more people could see Mr. Simon in person. I met him briefly yesterday for the first time, and that cemented my feelings that he will truly work diligently to save California and will be the best governor in a long time. (Sorry, I wasn't around when Mr. Reagan was Governor.)

This is an automated poll that anyone in the house can answer...not very scientific.
Everything I'm hearing is positive right now, even after the flap last week. I really hate the liberal media!

The polls said a lot of stuff in 2000 that just wasn't true. Screw the polls. The only poll that counts is on November 5. Let's see if we can Freep that bad boy in the next few weeks.

Sorry, don't know how I missed it, but could somebody give me a nutshell on this "last week's photo flap" thing?
Thanks,

Replican's particularly California Republicans once again appear as they are about to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.... DAVIS is the most unpopular politico in the nation, and yet they still look like they are going to lose... pathetic.

I believe one of the posters here called this development last week.

Tom McClintock for CA State Controller Tom McClintock has many fans among Libertarians. The Controller's race is the only statewide race in which the LP is not fielding a candidate. I think it's because the LP doesn't want to drain votes from McClintock.
