I was recently accused of having a low opinion of my fellow citizens when I suggested that too many people out there are too stupid to be trusted with firearms.

I pointed out that too many of my fellow citizens are too stupid to be trusted with a ballot--witness Clinton getting elected twice, and Al Gore getting as many votes as he did. If I can't trust someone with a ballot, I sure ain't gonna trust them if they're packing heat...

Don't know specifically what to tell you about guns, since it is a right (not a privilege), except that if stupid Demo's get to arm themselves, I by golly had better be able to do the same.

Having said that...

You'll get no argument from me on the matter of the stupidity of the general populace. I love Rush a lot; but when he's gone off on one of his "people are smart" rants, my eyes always glaze over. No they aren't, Rush. They're stupid.

I notice he says this a lot less since Clinton, and since Algore's statistical victory for the Presidency.
