Quote from Mayor Willie Brown:
"her blind ambition caused her to do what any of us with any degree of honor would not have done.Just curious: how would Willie Brown possibly know what someone of honor would or would not do?
To: Ernest_at_the_Beach
"By the folks in San Francisco, no less."
Vote fraud in San Francisco? No way.
BTW, anyone find any ballot boxes floating in the bay, yet?

"...Simon has no experience or understanding of how the election process works..." What does THIS have to do with SF Dems stuffing ballot boxes or whatever the heck those "peaceful, loving" folks did?????
To: Brad's Gramma
Nobody stuffed any ballot boxes. Simon and his people were ignorant and paranoid. That's the meaning of that quote.
But don't take my word for it. Ask the author of the article.
To: Ernest_at_the_Beach
To me, the tone of the article is the most grating thing: the patronizing attitude: "Now, now, Mr. Simon, this is just how things are done. Now go over there and practice your concession speech while we DemonRATs show you how to run an election."
God I hate liberalism and corruption. And they are both to be found in abundance in the DemonRAT Party.
To: Brad's Gramma
It means exactly what it means... every single election cycle in CA, the Republican jumps into an immediate lead based on the absentee ballots, and everyone on the FR goes nuts thinking the Republicans are winning. It is really sad. Then the lead grows as GOP counties across the state reports. Once the absentees and GOP counties have reported in and things look really good, then the Rat counties dump all of their votes, take the lead, and win.
Always helpful to know how many votes you'll need in advance.

OK, Willie...lemme get this straight...first you said...
"I think [Teng's] blind ambition caused her to do what any of us with any degree of honor would not have done. And that is to run against a good friend whom she knows is handicapped, politically speaking. She did that like a shark smelling blood in the water."
And then later you said...
"I think Doris was a weak candidate in the first place, and it would have been my preference if she had not run -- I didn't think she was healthy enough to run,"
So what you're saying, Willie, is that Ward shouldn't have run, but as long as she did anyway in her weakened condition, Teng should have not run against her.
That makes perfect nonsense. But hey, I am used to that coming from Silly Hall.

Nobody stuffed any ballot boxes. Simon and his people were ignorant and paranoid. That's the meaning of that quote. Oh really? What do you know about Colma?
To: Carry_Okie
Nothing.
What does that have to do with anything? Brad's Grandma asked the meaning of the quote (from the article) which I posted earlier. That was the meaning. It doesn't mean that nothing irregular occured. It means that nothing significant occured in the Bay Area. A later poster elaborated.
Whether or not the article was correct is another matter. That Simon didn't challange says something.

I couldn't agree with you more. It's always the pattern that the absentees and smaller GOP leaning counties come out in Wacky-fornia first before the lefties counties come in. There are other states like that too. Detroit always reports last in Michigan, and St. Louis in Missouri. I don't think it is any DemonRatic scheme to defraud the voters (most of the time), but it takes longer logistically to deal with big cities.
To: Carry_Okie
What do you know about Colma? Decomposed Democrats.
To: liberallarry; Avoiding_Sulla
Nothing. Thought so.
What does that have to do with anything?
LOL! It's San Francsico's graveyard!
Is there fraud? Yes. Was it enough for Bill Simon to have won? No, my take is that fraud statewide accounts for about two thirds of Davis' plurality, a couple of hundred thousand votes (perhaps twice that in a presidential election). If one throws in the Green vote, Simon lost enormously.
Still, there is vote fraud in San Francisco, as any native knows only too well (which is why I asked, seeing as I grew up there). If McClintock loses, it will have been the difference. This is to say nothing of the illegals in LA. You might want to ask Avoiding Sulla about that.

Decomposed Democrats. Yup. My dump truck used to work in those graveyards (that's why it has a stiff suspension).
My pretty dump truck is famous!

My pretty dump truck is famous! It's a beauty. Message ain't bad either.
To: Carry_Okie
There's vote fraud everywhere...just as there's fraud of all kinds everywhere. I doubt that it's only the Democrats who engage in such things. What's important is its magnitude and the effect it has. In this case it had no effect on the governor's race and there's little evidence that it was greater than usual.
What is unusual these days is the closeness of the contests - which magnifies the effect of every vote.

My dump truck used to work in those graveyards (that's why it has a stiff suspension) Don't tell me YOU were using it to get out the vote.
