"Stevie" isn't like other 5-year-old boys. While his peers are into karate and video games, Stevie tiptoes around the house like a ballerina and plays with Barbie dolls. His favorite colors are pink and red.

The psychiatric world calls this behavior sex nonconformity or sex confusion.

Human Rights Campaign's Mr. Besen...."...Millions of gays are happy, including me."

Hey, millions of schizophrenics may be happy as well, but they are still sick people in need of help.

Joseph Kort, a psychotherapist and adjunct professor of homosexual studies at Wayne State University in Detroit.

There are so many punch lines for this...so little time.

I'll certainly say the Washington Times was more than fair on this one--can you even imagine reading something this balanced in the New York Times?

(try not to laugh out loud at that idea ;)

This article was full of straight lines from the gay activists [does that count as a pun?].

But Joseph and Linda Nicolosi, who head the National Association of Research and Therapy of Homosexuality in Encino, Calif., say Stevie is showing signs of "pre-homosexuality."

This psychobabble jibber-jabber indicates that Joseph and Linda Nicolosi are showing signs of "recto-cranial inversion".

"Pre-Homosexuality"?? Sheesh.

Has Nicolosi done any research that clearly distinguishes between "cause" and "effect"? That is to say, can he prove this kid has "pre-homosexuality" BECAUSE of his weak fatherly relationship, or does the possiblity still exist that the fatherly-relationship is weak BECAUSE the kid is like he is?

Just wait until you hear what the pro-homosexual cheerleaders show signs of! Rectal insertion of just about any damn thing until they get that drainpipe effect. Truly sick stuff!

This is one of the reasons that homosexuals should not be allowed to adopt children or be foster parents.

In the realm of human possibilities, you could probably find cases of both in addition to cases where the bond with the father is fine but something else, such as sexual molestation by a homosexual, has caused the problem. The researchers describe an observed pattern. Humans are far to complex to have their psyches reduced to a collection of cause-and-effect resonses.

The important thing is that they are finding ways to move the sexual identity back to the norm. That's what the pro-homosexual cheerleaders truly hate.

Pre-homosexual boys are much more likely to enjoy artistic or social activities, Mr. Nicolosi says.

As opposed to destructive and anti-social activities? Huh?

So, absent any evidence, we slap the kid into therapy and tell him how screwed up he is -- a 5 year-old kid -- and tell the family how rotten the parents are?

Yeah -- one reason I dislike such jargon-mongering is that it's so often a smoke screen thrown up to conceal intellectual flatulence.

So, absent any evidence...

Um, how much evidence do you need to see that the boy is outside of the norm of sexual identity?

...we slap the kid into therapy...

Translation: we try to help the kid.

...and tell him how screwed up he is...

Gee, I missed the part of the article where the researchers told the kid that. Could you reference it for me?

...and tell the family how rotten the parents are?

Parenting is a learned skill. Constructive criticism is an essential part of learning and there's a lot more to it that just telling someone they're rotten.

If the boy's watching Beauty and the Beast for the third time today and thinks playing baseball is scary, you might want to check into it.

That's not the evidence I was talking about and you know it. WHY is the kid "outside of the norm of sexual identity"? Obviously, Nicolosi seems to know: "Most pre-homosexual children have distant or strained relationships with their parents, he says, but the father-son relationship is especially crucial for a boy's developing sexual identity." Where's his evidence that the chicken came first - is the identify because of the strain, or is the strain because of the identity? You just told me that the psyche is too complex for such disagnoses, but here he's making it.

Translation: we try to help the kid.

Try Ritalin.

Could you reference it for me?

It's simple, really -- kids who aren't screwed-up don't need 'therapy'. Or Ritalin.

Constructive criticism is an essential part of learning and there's a lot more to it that just telling someone they're rotten.

And what happens, after all this baseless therapy, when the kid's starting a gay-les group in school? It's the parents' fault his is this way, after all. At what point do they become rotten parents because their kid is gay? Even NARTH admits that some of their successes are celibate rather than any true change in orientation -- the 'stop it or you'll go blind' treament.

(Libs are just trying to 'help the kid' when they dope the kid up on Ritalin instead of figuring out what's really going on.)

I dunno. Baseball is a team sport, and that seems a little too social to be safe....
