Seems like Lott has his problems. *shrugs* I didn't peruse the whole site to determine its legitimacy though...

as I am paranoid, a question:
HOW does one submit a question to "John Lott" on this fraudulent website?
More to the point, by what datacommunications means is an answer supposed to come back to one who asks a question?
Email, perhaps?
If yes, that might be a very bad thing.
Meaning, if you ask a question via an automatic email interface as is usual on many sites featuring FAQ and inquiry protocols, the fraudulent site has a record of at least two things: Your email addy, and that you have shown active interest in firearms issues.
Anyone else seeing a nasty data-mine/pseudo-registry potential here. or am I totally off base?

The "ask John Lott" was set up so you could send the impostor an e mail. I clicked on it and it sent me to my Navigator composer with their e mail already typed in.

see? I keep telling the world: it pays to be paranoid - they ARE out to get us.
Care to make any bets as to what the fraud perp has done with his collection of email addys?

no.
It is certainly trademark infringement and dilution.
It is interstate fraud.
It is misrepresentation of identity, with provable intent to do harm = malice.
The fraud perp ought to be skinned alive.

I think I'm about to find out. When I noticed the composer had his e mail already typed in, I thought about sending something and then changed my mind. I became a little paranoid about sending him a nasty e mail and how he might respond to it. My final decision was to get the heck off that composer and in my haste instead of hitting the close button, I hit the send button. So he recieved a blank message from me.
It will be interesting what the response is going to be. I suppose I couldn't have planned it better. A blank is as neutral as I can think although it wasn't planned.

I believe the word you are looking for is "oops!"
Hopefully the Law has already shut this bozo down, and the website shall soon follow.

It's still there. There's a disclaimer on the bottom that says the website is run by Mary Rosh.
He's using the lame excuse that if Lott can create a phony name, he can create one to run a website.
