A couple of my aunts and uncles who were lucky enough to adopt because they couldn't have kids --- my cousins turned out great or at least just average --- volunteered at CPCs --- I hope it made a difference to at least some of the girls to realize adoptive parents cared very much for the babies they adopted and raised.
