Who says Hilary is presidental material???

Posted on 12/13/2003 12:25:56 PM PST by shermed

It seems a bit odd that throughout all this BS about when and if our gal Hilly will run for president one very important point seems to be in the shadows. SHE DOESN'T HAVE ONE ONCE OF QUALIFICATIONS TO BE THE LEADER OF THE GREATEST COUNTRY ON THE PLANET. All we are doing is satisfying the inflated egoes of Hilly, Billy and the rest of the "Demorats". Please, somebody get a life here. 4 or 8 years of this crew will leave us all down the path of no return. Pro-abortion, anti-Constitution, dealers in political fraud of all kinds, cooking the government books. You name it this sleazy crew has done it. Imagine if all the fraud and graft in Florida had worked. Gore as president, ouch.

There needs to be a debate on the following question: Shortly after Hitlary delivered her treasonous remarks in Baghdad, there was a well-planned (meaning planned in advance) attack on Coalition forces. The question to be debated is: Did Hitlary work directly with the enemy or simply provide advance notice of her comments to Al-Jazeera so that they could coordinate the attack? What did Hitlary know and when did she know it? What has she promised the enemy in return for their support of her campaign?

Hilllary won the Senate seat without paying her dues like most Senators who were first Congressmen or Governors. Her only achievement was "standing by her man"- she's an embarassment to feminism.

Sorry, but this dog won't hunt. I'm no fan of Hillary! She will have my vote when they pry the ballot from my cold, dead fingers.

But by the time she runs (probably 2008), assuming she is reelected, she will have been a U.S. Senator for eight years. That's two years LONGER than Dubya held public office before he became president.

Did she get to be a Senator because she was the president's wife? You betcha. On the other hand, do you think Dubya's family connections had anything to do with making him governor of Texas?

Again, I'm not saying I want her as president. But we aren't going to be able to attack her credentials, because however she got them, she's going to have them. We're going to have to attack her on the issues, and on her ethics (or lack of same).

It may have helped get his foot in the door, but it doesn't explain getting 68% of the vote in his reelection bid and wiping out Bill Clinton's personal friend Gary Mauro in the 1998 gubernatorial election in the second most populous state in the US. It was this very large margin a victory which made him a contender for the 2000 presidential race.

Your point is well-taken; everything I said was based on the assumption that Hillary! will win reelection in 2006. If she loses, she's not going to be taken seriously as a presidential candidate in 2008.

The larger point is this: In politics, it's not what you know, it's who you know. Political dynasties are nothing knew -- just in the 20th Century, we've had the Tafts, the Kennedys, the Roosevelts, the Bush family, and probably others I'm forgetting. Nor is it unusual for someone to be elected president who hasn't held public office for long: Dubya had six years; Reagan had eight; Eisenhower had never been elected to public office in his life. So I don't think we're going to be able to take Hillary! down on the grounds of lack of experience.

The "mainstream" media say that Hitlery is fit to be President. I'm happy to say that I don't see her actually winnning the oval office.

ha ha ha....if Hillary doesn't have the guts to dump her mentally 19 year old frat boy of a husband, how can anyone truly trust her to be strong on terrorism? She won't run this election. She'll wait to lose in 2008.

I have always thought that Hillary would be nowhere without the enablers in the media. They are the ones who have promoted this beast since she and her partner in crime came into the picture. They say she is the smartest woman in the world, They say she is the bright star of the dim party. They say she is an effective senator, blah, blah, blah. IOW, it is all propaganda from the media.

Notice the one thing you don't see. All the whiny media/ lefties/libs that insisted Bush, with 6 years as Texas Governor, was to inexperienced, but Hillarys with 3 years as a senator is plenty qualified.

"Again, I'm not saying I want her as president. But we aren't going to be able to attack her credentials, because however she got them, she's going to have them."

She will have "legislative" credentials. BUT, there is/was a thread here on FR about the actual SUCCESS RATE of Senators who had not been either a state governor or VP in runs for the presidency. I don't recall the exact statistics, but the number (if non-zero) was very small.

Being a Senator doesn't seem to equal "leadership" qualifications in the mind of the public, though it seems to with the party heirarchies.
