Kerry now calling Bush a Deserter

Posted on 01/24/2004 8:27:13 AM PST by John Redcorn

Once again the Democrat campaign reeks of hypocrisy. Kerry is now publicly calling Bush a deserter, but Clinton got a free pass on blatant draft-dodging. The liberal media is blasting all Republicans over a few GOP staffers cracking Democrat memo files, but it was OK for Clinton to illegally procure over 900 FBI personnel files for use against his political opponents. Slick Willy had his bootlickerWesley Clark intervene in a civil war, bomb Yugoslavia into a parking lot, create 500,000 refugees, and destroy the country's infrastructure (all without the blessing of the UN, I might add), but the war in Iraq is immoral. These people make me sick.

I was raised by a Lieutenant Colonel and I'm married to a Navy vet. I wasn't saying that I think President Bush was in any way, shape, or form a deserter - I was merely posting the DRUDGE headline, and I posted it as anti-Kerry, not anti-GWB.

I understand and salute President Bush's military service.

The internet gives us access to unprecentended access to facts as well as BS

Agreed. And would you agree that a lot of people who enjoy participating in, say, the MoveOn site think this site has a lot of BS on it? And vice versa?

it is incumbent on us to seperate the two before we speak.

I get very leery when I hear and see words like that. It is incumbent that we are always free to ask questions. About anyone or anything -- especially regardless of some party affiliation or position. If you have a problem with the questions I raised, for example, or more importantly the tenor of my questions, then your problem is with the First Amendment, not me.

By the way, in your ideal world, who decides whether I did my separating to your satisfaction? You?

---------------------

Bush Budget Raises Cost of Medicare Jan 29, 2:06 PM (ET) (AP) - President Bush's new budget will project that the just-enacted prescription drug program and Medicare overhaul will cost one-third more than previously estimated and will predict a deficit exceeding $500 billion for this year, congressional aides said Thursday. Instead of a $400 billion 10-year price tag, Bush's 2005 budget will estimate the Medicare bill's cost at about $540 billion, said aides who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Hey Cin, Now *THIS* is an OOPSIE!!!!!

There a these things called FACTS, they are out there and available. Users of the internet, have those FACTS available, we have to sift through alot of subjective garbage many times to find them. i.e John Kerry's military record was mistaken for the other Senator Kerry's. You still find people on the internet attacking John F'ing Kerry for something he did not do. He has plenty of other political and personal issue, including how he won his Bronze Star, but the FACTS are that he is not a war criminal. Since I believe in personal responsibility, it is incumbent (a duty) on all of us including myself to search out the facts. Opinions are fine and should be aired, just base them on FACTS, i.e John F'ing Kerry headed an organization funded by "Hanoi" Jane Fonda, FACT, he lied in his testimony before congress in the 70's, FACT he lied about documented behavior of our Viet Nam vets, FACT the vast majority of vets never committed an atrocity nor witnessed one. FACT, in 1993 Kerry tried to stop a pay raise for service members while raising their taxes, FACT George Bush was never a deserter, FACT the correct information has been out there for four years, FACT even Tom Brokaw knew the FACTS do not support that accusation. MoveOn.org is a site that practices political attacks against a President they hate, it is devisive and based less on fact then feelings of hate. We all make mistakes, it happens that doesn't mitigate responsibility.

Whew! I'm glad I have your approval. I didn't sleep last night. But if you recall, my point dealt specifically with the right to question.

just base them on FACTS

This also gets back to my initital question. These facts are cleared through whom before we air a question or comment?

I glad you slept well, our participation on this site indicates our willingness to listen to opinion. I quess I can only refer you to Websters (pg 271 in mine)for the definition of "facts". Unless you are trying to define what "is" is, facts are what they are. Not open to interpretation, not subjective. Which of my "facts" do you dispute, you have yet to address that. So as not to deny you a restful night please feel free to opine.

If you look at the ORIGINAL post I made that spurred you to reply, I said it was not out of line to ask the Commander-in-Chief to clarify this issue. What got you off on certain "facts" about Kerry, and other non sequiturs only you can determine.

Asking questions of our leaders, no matter what letter is after their name, is not out of line. Except, it seems, to you. Hopefully you are as willing to listen to questions raised as well as opinions on this site? After raising my question I had a very intelligent, civil, and reasonable answer to it. Seems the site did it's job, if you ask me. Had I taken your original advice, I never would have asked it. Give me an open exchange of ideas, questions, and challenges any day. You may find some of it disconcerting to your political belief system, but this nation has survived the process well over 200-plus years, and Jim Robinson's wonderful site here as survived people like me asking questions for almost eight years.

And my response invovled initiative in seeking out the answer, Bush's military record has been responded to, not by him directly but by others including the National Guard, those facts have been available on the net on various sites for the last four years. Since you are not sleeping well, surf a bit, you may find them.

Tell you what I'll do. I will get invovled in surfing more, if you will get into that Websters of yours and tell me what casterates means. Perhaps you were just doing a Bush imitation in order to lighten the mood of our exchanges?

Limited time, loquacity, leads to a few spelling errors. We all have our faults. I will try to be more diligent with the spell check. What are you anyway a English teacher?

"a english teacher" is poor grammar. To be correct you should use "an," not "a," with words which begin with a vowel. No, I am not an English teacher, but "my response invovled initiative in seeking out the answer" so you win the argument. Game, set, and match. Congratulations! ;)
