Beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You made me teary eyed. As a daughter of a Vietnam Vet I have an understanding of the sacrifice it takes. God bless all of you. I pray each and everyone of you comes home safe. Remember Psalms 91
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.
Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.
If you make the Most High your dwelling-
even the Lord, who is my refuge-
then no harm will befall you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
For he will command his angels
concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot
against a stone.
You will tread upon the lion and the
cobra;
you will trample the great lion and
the serpent.
"Because he loves me," says the Lord.
I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he
acknowledges my name.
He will call upon me, and I will
answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life will I satisfy him
and show him my salvation.

Reflection for 12/08/04
Laying down their life for friends....

This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
- John 15:12-13 (KJV)

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
- John 3:16-17 (KJV)

Christ did not have to die on the cross. It was His choice to do this. This act was the ultimate act of love. We are sinners who do not deserve this gift, yet Christ loved us so that he did this for us.

This is not going to be one of my normal “Reflections”. I want to take a few moments to thank those who are serving in Iraq, Afghanistan, and in other areas, both at home and around the world.

These brave men and women are placing their lives on the line. They do not have to do this. Nothing forced them to join the military. They did this because of their love for their families, their friends and their country.

Many of these troops are not able to spend this time with their families. We need to remember their sacrifice. Let them know that you support them!

Below are a few easy ways that you can brighten up a soldiers day:

http://gipizza.com/ - PIZZA INN has outlets on US Bases in the Perisian Gulf. From this web site you can send Pizza and Pepsi to U.S. soldiers who are fighting out there on the front lines on behalf of all of us. In addition to the Pizza, you can send a message to the troops who receive this Pizza.

http://www.treatsfortroops.com/ - This website has an assortment of treats that they will send to soldiers. If you order before December 11th, you can get gifts to the service men by Christmas. They have an assortment of Christmas packages that you can send either to a specific soldier, or you can adopt a soldier.

http://www.thecampaignstore.com/store/itemdetail.asp?id=188 Coffee for the Troops. With your order, a full bag of premium ground coffee in a flavor-seal bag is sent to a unit serving in Iraq or Afghanistan. Along with the coffee we will enclose a personalized message from you to our troops – so you can tell the men and women of our Armed Forces how much you appreciate their bravery, dedication and sacrifices.

http://pizzaidf.com/ - Similar to the GI Pizza (and associated with GI Pizza), this site allows you to send Pizza, Donuts or soup to soldiers in the Israel Defense Force.

Please take time to remember our servicemen this year. Simple things like this will mean more than you can imagine to our troops!
