Somebody talk me down

Posted on 11/04/2008 8:21:29 PM PST by BrazillionBob

I don't mind telling you that I'm feeling more than a little despondent. Somebody give me a reason not to crumble into full-blown despair. Please?!

Just sit back for the day the libs realize they’ve ‘re-elected’ Jimmy Carter.

I worked the polls for 15 hours today, I'm tired, and not happy with the outcome, but the sun will rise tomorrow morning and hopefully I'll see it.

My prostate biopsy results were 100% correct, no cancer and I'm sipping several ounces of Johnnie Walker Black.

Life is good, today's political events not withstanding.

My wife, kids and grandkids still love me and I them.

Being a conservative means reality is what it is, not what we wish it would be.

We face it and deal with it.

Give your loved ones more time and smile more often.

We'll take some shots from our lefty pals, don't argue or try rationalize the reasons for the way it turned out.

Congratulate them on victory and let it rest.

I'm taking my grandsons deer hunting and I promise you neither one cares about todays political events.

Bob, as Jesus was about to be crucified on a cross He said these words, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me you might have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 KJV

I have worked, made telephone calls and given a lot of money to get McCain elected. For weeks, I have prayed several times daily that McCain would be chosen. My most earnest prayer was that God’s will be done. Obama has been elected, and I know that it is God’s will. Now Barack should be shaking in his boots, because Jehovah God is going to deal with him. God is Sovereign! As believers we are safe whatever happens in our beloved America.

So Bob, do not be down hearted! Our cause is just and righteous, and the Lord is on our side!

One other really good point...now that a black man has become president, in time it will take the issue off of the table.

Remember, the entire north used to be Republican and the south was once Dem. Republicans winning issues removed them from the table and caused people to jump on other issues instead.

2 Thessalonians 2

1Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

2That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

5Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

6And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.

7For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

8And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

9Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

10And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

12That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

13But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

14Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

15Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.

16Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,

17Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

Here’s something you can do for fun. If an Obama supporter starts running it in, say “Congratulations! Let’s hope our new president does well!” Continue in this positive way. Trust me, it will drive those Obama people even more nuts than they already are.

While America has been sleeping, your culture has eroded into that of a third world nation. Symbolism over substance, fashion over dignity and profits over principle are the virtues of the masses. Why shouldn’t we have BO for president?

ALL POLITICS ARE LOCAL. If you did nothing for your candidate where you live, work and pray; then you got what you deserve.

Just this evening I found my silver lining while walking the beach in Naples, FL.

The majesty of the mighty ocean and the splendor of the glorious sunset told me that the creator of the universe has seen civilizations great and small come and go. Yet the tide continues to go in an out and the sun rises and sets in spite of us.

You are blessed to live in what is left of America. After all, tomorrow is another day.

Maybe now the complacent couch potatoes of America will put down the remote control and the Doritos and get active in their school boards, political parties, communities and city councils.

Have you ever written to your so called “representatives”? Have you ever stood in the street with a protest sign, even if you were the only one there? I have and I never feel more American when I am doing so.

The left has been quietly ruling this country right under your nose for decades. Your happiness and hope in the future will depend on whether you are part of the problem or part of the solution.

Now is not the time for embarrassed patriots. We have only begun to fight!

Keep in mind that if you do what you did, you’ll get what you got.

Tonight, for the first time in her history, America embraced and anointed as a leader a feckless, narcissistic coward in favor of a legendary hero. I can assure you the shallow and vulgar celebrations of the democrat party will be fleeting. The day of America’s reckoning is at hand.

The tragedy of the election of 2008 is that it will have been the youth of America which has been conditioned to be loyal to the state who voted for their own servitude. They simply do not have the experience nor discernment to see what is the oldest and most despicable of political lies and destroyer of nations; the notion that the so called, “government” can give us anything that will increase our happiness.

I share in your heartfelt sorrow for today. Tomorrow, I resume my fight for the right.

The highest glory of the American Revolution was this:
it connected, in one indissoluble bond, the principles of
civil government with the principles of Christianity.

-John Quincy Adams

To the distinguished character of Patriot, it should be our highest
glory to add the more distinguished character of Christian.

-George Washington

Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure,
when we have removed their only firm basis,
a conviction in the minds of the people that they
are a gift of God? Indeed, I tremble for my countrymen,
when I reflect that God is just, that His justice
cannot sleep forever.

-Thomas Jefferson

The foundations of our society and our government rest so much
on the teachings of the Bible that it would be difficult to support
them if faith in these teachings would cease to be practically
universalin our country.

-Calvin Coolidge

We have grown in numbers, wealth and power as no other nation
has ever grown. But we have forgotten God and we have vainly
imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these
blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of
our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too
self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving
grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us!
It behooves us, then, to humble ourselves to confess our national sins,
and to pray for clemency and forgiveness.

-Abraham Lincoln

It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often
that this great nation was founded not by
religionists [pluralism], but by Christians;
not on religions, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ!

-Patrick Henry

Religion is the only solid basis of good morals; therefore education
should teach the precepts of religion, and the duties of man towards God.

-Governeur Morris Pennsylvania delegate
to the Constitutional Convention

But all of us—at home, at war, wherever
we may be—are within the reach of God’s
love and power. We all can pray. We all
should pray. We should ask the fulfillment
of God’s will. We should ask for courage,
wisdom, for the quietness of soul which
comes alone to them who place their lives
in His hands.

Don’t know if you ever saw I Claudius, but his motto regarding Rome was ‘Let all the poison’s that are in the mud hatch out’.

By letting the worst take over Rome it made the public see just how bad she was, and condemn her.

Course, this is rather depressing in itself, lol, but then again think of how happy you’ll feel when the left starts in to bickering among themselves and things are going horribly wrong and there’s no one, meaning no Republican, to blame.

I wouldn’t want that either if I were them. If it ever deteriorates into civil war, we’re the ones with all the guns! That’s why they’ll try to take them away from us. I will not go willingly into that dark night like the liberals have done.

Right on here. Question is, why didn’t the GOP strategists see it, and what can we do about it? College campi have been crawlng with libs for years. The GOP NEVER reached ot to the youth vote, based on their old statistics of a time gone by. Being out of touch with the pulse of America’s youth, those 18-30somethings, has been a huge oversight.

Having any faith in a political party is guaranteed to bring disappointment. The GOP is the party of Lincoln and the party of reform and the party of liberty. Unfortunately, the leadership has forgotten that. It is up to us to take it back, one stinking bureaucrat at a time. In the mean time, Our flag is still there and so is our rock and foundation.

THE SOLID ROCK

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly trust in Jesus’ Name.

Refrain

On Christ the solid Rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

When darkness seems to hide His face,
I rest on His unchanging grace.
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.

Refrain

His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood.
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my Hope and Stay.

Refrain

When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh may I then in Him be found.
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.
