I opposed McCain for the GOP nomination, though his record will show that he was more conservative and principled than George W. Bush ever was.

Part of the Tea Party movement is to eduated Republicans what a poor president GWB was so that we don’t repeat the mistakes of the past.

McCain as Senator doesn’t bother me at all . . he will have little effect on making policy but is influential and respected in the U.S. Senate. I doubt if Hayworth could be elected if he couldn’t keep his congressional seat.

Scott Brown paired with Michell Bachmann would be a strong ticket, and could even result in a Republican landslide in 2012, which is what I want. Not a win, but a landslide.

Many Freepers think JD Hayworth could win becuase McCain only got 49% of the vote in the 2008 AZ Presidential primary. That is misleading. There are many Mormons in the Phoenix area. McCain was running against Romney, a Mormon.

JD Hayworth is a Baptist. He won’t getting the Mormon. Rep. Jeff Flake, a Mormon, is backing McCain. The Mormons will stand with McCain.

Also, Tea Party groups are divided over McCain. Some Tea Partiers want McCain’s head. But Dick Armey, of Freedom Works, blasted JD Hayworth for being a big pork spender and said its better to go after Dems than support JD.
