Longtime state Rep. Rick Berg (R) will be North Dakota Republican's standard bearer in the race against Rep. Earl Pomeroy (D-N.D.).
The state party endorsed Berg over Kevin Cramer, chairman of the North Dakota Public Service Commission, and two other GOP contenders at its convention in Grand Forks, N.D. on Saturday afternoon.
Cramer, Berg's main rival for the nomination, has already said he would not run in the primary if he did not win the party endorsement.
Berg, the former state House Majority Leader, led Pomeroy in Rasmussen Reports poll conducted in early February, which may have helped him convince delegates that he represented the party's best chance to beat Pomeroy in November.

If Pomeroy votes for Nazi Pelosi care he’s as good as done. He’s a must for Obummer to ram this through. He was a tough yes last time.
This is the best chance to unseat Earl Pomeroy in years.
Here’s what I know about Rick Berg. My manufacturing business was having some minor yet irritating problems installing new state-of-the-art factory automation with a state regulatory empire building individual. My state Rep introduced me to Rick. Rick spoke to this individual who was told, “You either let engineers decide how these things work or I’ll introduce legislation taking your authority away from you”. That was ten years and a couple generations of equipment ago.
Insiders had his phone calls 7-1 against. A vote yes would be a kamikaze vote.
Rick Berg was my state representative until I moved to Maine. He has been speaker of the state house of representatives and is a fine man. He has a real chance of beating Pomeroy.
He was an aye.
You should read the on-line comments section of the local paper. People are pissed!
The Republicans will never win if they don’t start educating their spokespeople on TV. The Democrats have talking points - most of them lies - the uneducated Republican just sits there. They should be able to strike back with the truth.
Example: the Democrats say ObamaCare strengthens Medicare. The truth is, this is a big LIE. The CBO says that would be double-counting:
To describe the full amount of HI trust fund savings as both improving the governments ability to pay future Medicare benefits and financing new spending outside of Medicare would essentially double-count a large share of those savings and thus overstate the improvement in the governments fiscal position.

Sorry, repeating this in the hope some GOP leader will see it!
