Fire GOP Leadership?

Most of us have seen the film Patton, who can forget scenes where Patton has order an objective taken and threaten his generals he will fire them if they are either failing or moving too slow.

Is it time to fire the Republican generals or leadership? John Boehner, Mitch McConnel, and Michael Steele, have only lead Americans and Conservatives who want our Government to abide by our Constitution to to defeat. Sunday was a Day of Infamy, Progressive Democrats won a major battle in their attempt to turn our Country into another European failed socialist state. Our protectors who we voted into office, they swore to defend the Constitution and to protect us from such attacks FAILED US! We are at WAR, and need leaders who can get the job done!

We have been here before when Clinton was first in office, a genuine leader came forward Newt Gingrich. Newt crafted a winning message that Americans could easily understand. Newt then marshalled the troops, gave them their marching orders, and made sure that nothing but victory was acceptable. Americans and Conservatives WON.

The War of Progressivism against our Constitution and freedoms in the name of Social Justice is harder, tougher and requires serious Men and Women capable of winning the hearts of minds of America. American's are going through an identity crisis brought on by decades of an education system that embraces socialist values over American values rooted in Judeo-Christian principles. Also a liberal media that has forgotten what unbiased/objective journalism represents, opting instead to be a propaganda arm for the Left and Progressives.

We need LEADERSHIP! Who can we point to that is taking the fight to the media and the streets? Which Republican elected to Congress are out in front, day after day, tireless eager to win this war? "Where there is no vision the people perish", who has a vision, and can get that message to the people. The time is NOW, we can't afford to wait, November is no guarantee.

Is Michele Bachmann a potential leader, she is out in front, she crafted the "Declaration of Health Care Independence Petition" although it was too late. She has embraced the Tea Party movement. There are others, we need them to step up.

I think we need new leadership today!

John Boehner, Mitch McConnel, Michael Steele should resign TODAY, and make room for those that can get the job done. Yes these men fought, but they didn't win. We can not accept losing these battles. They can continue to fight, and help new leadership, but should step aside.

Max...

The RNC has been downsized and outsourced to FR, talk-radio and Tea-Partiers that will volunteer for a local guy to run against a Democratic Dinosaur (ergo Rob Steele vs. Dingell this fall)

The RNC is as tragic as this guy in the cube, unemployed mumbling about his stapler...

I feel very comfortable with this issue...The leadership of this party has been failing since 2004, even though we stayed in the WH, we started to lose serious ground and those republicans that did get elected some were not of the consesrvative brand...

That led to a moderate wave of feckless majority actions that led to the defeat in 2006, and the circle was completed when they hoisted a nearly dead campaign “maverick” onto us and damaged a really good person who got added to the ticket...And we got our arses handed to us...

So I agree...the leadership of the Republican party needs to stop the direction and other templates they use for candidates and start getting back in tune with the grassroots...

We can defeat the Dems in November by what the American people are seeing and prepared to do, but if the Party doesn’t embrace this movement and keep the moderates at bay and the base fired up...Then you can kiss getting rid of this healthcare law goodbye forever...

Never mind what will happen in 2012...

McConnell and Boehner have kept the GOP in line.

Except for Cao in November, Boehner didn’t lose a single vote of 177 House members during the Healthcare fight.

McConnell had problems with Specter and the Maine twins near the beginning of this Congress, but Specter is now the Democrats problems and he has kept 41 of the biggest egos in world in line.

When you are outfielded by 59 to 41 or 253 to 177, what exactly do you expect the leadership to do?

Mitch McConnell and John Boehner have never been leaders with majorities. You can thank Lott and Frist in the Senate or Hastert in the House. Since they are gone from Congress, I guess you can say that those Generals have already been fired.

Newt Gingrich is giving very strong signals lately that he is going to run for President. I would say that a Gingrich-Pence ticket might be quite formidable.

Steele seems very weak to me. He needs to grow a pair or move on down the road.

Gingrich couldn’t get the votes of his own children.

Party leaders are elected by the State Central Committee in each state, and the National Committee. If you don't like the people they elect as Party Chairmen, or the people they endorse for office, run against them and get them out. That's how you take over a Party. Don't keep saying what the Party leadership should do. Replace them with people who will do what you want.

McConnell and Boehner have kept the GOP in line.

Agreed. To "fire" them as mrmax suggests would not only require us to retreat from our current position of strength, it ignores the tactical successes of the current GOP leadership.

Steele I would agree with, but Boehner and McConnell HAVE been getting the job done.

Exactly, casting eyes around for whom to blame and finding GOP leadership is foolish, the GOP actually performed decently well in 06 and 08, the problem was they lost every close election.

Fast forward to 2010 and the only one whom I can really be unhappy with is Michael Steele, there has been no rise in Republican Registrations at a time of dramatic Dhimmicrat actions, some that hit at the heart of Republicanism.

At this point, not can’t Steele sell Refrigerators to Eskimos, he can’t sell them to Desert Dwellers either.

As for Boehner and McConnel, what have they done to not get the job done?

Is there some magical elf that can take a 177 seat minority and make a final vote any closer than Boehner got? Did Boehner and McConnel lose our majorities?

No, it was losers (which I mean in the most literal definition) like yourself who want an outright victory when the logistics for that dont exist.

The people who railed and voted against Santorum because he backed Specter. Those are the people that lost the elections. The people who today are calling Chris Christie (in spite of the budget measures he has put forth so far) a RINO because he isnt sure if he will join the 14 other states suing over Obamacare. The wimps in South Carolina who cried and complained about Grahmnesty, then voted him back in LAST year.

Boehner and McConnel have run a tight ship with far fewer troops and have won the war of ideas. What more do you want?

Too bad we can't fire some of the more stupid voters, including IMO 3rd party voters who vote down a black hole and helped Obama get elected.

Remember that in the end, no Republicans voted for this health care mess.

Gingrich has gone the way of Pat Buchannon, Lindsey Graham, Bill Orielly, and Bob Barr. All heroes at one point but now just mocked for the most part at FR.

Unfortunately Steele’s got his claws in the party but good. Yanking him out midterm would make him a story that he’d guaranty to keep from going away.

It’ll have to be party members who aren’t directly under Steele’s thumb working to make this election what it can be.

BTTT - good post. Let’s not forget the biggest losers of all, every Republican (and there were some Freepers in this group) who voted for McQueeg in the primaries.
