Four Reasons Why Sarah Palin Will Win
Mark America.com ^ | 20 August 2011 | Mark America

Posted on 08/20/2011 11:45:34 PM PDT by Windflier

I’ve been approached several times today by doubters who advance arguments as to why Sarah Palin cannot win the nomination, or if she secures it, why she can’t defeat Barack Obama.

All of the theories I’ve had pitched in my direction today share a couple common faults, and it’s important to point them out here. The most common reason I’ve heard today is the belief that the Media will destroy her. That’s silly. Is there a single Republican, never mind conservative, who the media will not seek to destroy to defend their darling, Barack Obama?

Anybody who watched the media in action after McCain’s nomination in 2008 should by now be thoroughly disabused of that shoddy notion. The Lame-Stream Media has been trying for three years running to destroy Sarah Palin, and there is no chance, having failed thus far, that they will improve results on their limited success.

The problem is that if the media narrative about a person is based on lies, in the longer run, those lies lose effectiveness as people learn the truth from other sources, and worse yet, the lies come back to haunt their purveyors because once the audience, having originally believed them, in the second instance realizes they’ve been scammed, they will thereafter no longer be inclined to believe another pronouncement given voice by that source.

The second most common flaw in the arguments I’ve been hearing and reading today is the dubious assumption that she’s an intellectual lightweight. Truthfully, there couldn’t be a more ridiculous claim upon which to base one’s criticisms, and yet this is the default argument of those who wish to suggest that Sarah Palin isn’t qualified.

It’s the constant harangue of the elite media types, and it has been a failure repeatedly. They tried to paint a similar picture of Ronald Reagan, and in fact, every Republican in my memory.

It’s a claim that falls on deaf ears in most quarters, because in the final analysis, it’s simply not believable given all she has already accompished. Having covered what critics have said, let me move on to my own list of reasons in opposition to these notions.

I firmly believe that Sarah Palin will run, win the nomination, and ultimately the Presidency.

Ahhh, but in Sarah's case, nathan, Windflier is right.

Recall that Rove's favorite advice for Dubya was the *opposite* of your tagline: "BOHICA!"

The cretin didn't even fight back against the Valerie Plame lie when it was a top aide (Armitage) who "outed" her, and everyone within the admin knew it.

The *ONLY* possible justification for not standing up for the WMD in Iraq is that either

a) it jeopardized "methods and sources"

or

b) Russia helped move WMDs to Syria and were holding something over Bush's head to keep it quiet.

Sarah has a track record, and quite a good one: read Going Rogue (New York Slimes bestseller) or get The Undefeated when it starts selling at Wal-Mart.

The main problem Sarah is going to have is the resentment from the fat self-loathing man-hating lardass Oprah watchers who viscerally hate her for having a world-class stud as husband *AND* her own career and having kept her looks after five kids, dammit.

Recall that Sarah was both held on a leash by McCain *and* sabotaged by Nicole Wallace and whatshisname, Stephen Schmidt(?), during the last campaign.

And her resourcefulness and pluck is shown by the fact that instead of dying when they had her pinned down with all those Alinskyite "freeze, personallize, polarize" junk lawsuits in Alaska, she escaped the kill zone and went on the hunt.

They can try the "she quit" meme all they want, but I have a sneaking suspicion that she has a devastating riposte up her sleeve for the first autofellating East Coast Manhattanite liberal presstitute who tries a "gotcha" question with it on the campaign trail.

Incidentally : look at the Iowa State Fair and the all-but-campaign-commercial "Iowa Passion". Listen carefully to the soundtrack at 0:52 - 0:53 or so. That was no accident.

I understand you have chosen Perry, and I grieve for your temporary insanity ;-)

IF the choices were merely Bachmann and Perry, I'd understand your wanting Perry since Bachmann *really* has a hill to climb. Her best bet to the White House is likely an overture to Obama, to replace Biden as VP next time: he needs a reach out to the religious right, and Bachmann would be the smoothest path from Biden, since they're both human affe factories.

Full Disclosure: I finally figured out, "Stand up, Chuck!" was either Biden's attempt at faith healing to reach out to the religious voters, OR his attempt to stake his own claim to "this was the moment the planet began to heal" territory of Obama.

Cheers!

Lighten up, Lubo. I made no such "charge."

You really should learn the difference between "making a charge" and "expressing a frequent suspicion." There is actually quite a massive gulf between the two. However, I could actually not care less if you never disabuse yourself of that dreadfully puffed-up, self-important misimpression. That's your cross to bear.

Get lost.

How about addresssing the point of what I really wrote? Since that humorous prelude has you so badly confused (?!), here it is again, minus the inexplicably offensive jape:

The cynical defeatist drivel offered up by Nate B. in fact deserves but to be ignored by actual thinking Americans, not applauded like some particularly prescient precept.

"I can’t think of a single politician so thoroughly loathed by the MSM, and whose image is so set at this point in the presidential election season. If Palin runs, in order to win she has to overcome a media blockade unlike any other."

Ahem. Ummmm, the Lamestream Misleadia has spent the last three years attempting to knock her off her pins with every imaginable onslaught available, tired to shut her up and convince America that she's already all washed up.

I guess you haven't noticed, but...

...they failed. Badly. Monstrously. Indelibly. Forever. Sarah Palin is better known and better liked today than when they started their assault on her all those years ago. Her Facebook fan base has tripled over the last two years. Her volunteer ground support has organized ready-to-launch teams of "get out the voter" commandos in virtually every State in the Union, basically as a response to the FAILED media attempts to destroy her.

Anyone who at this point thinks they can effectively point to the media's repeatedly ineffective assassinations of Palin as a reason why she cannot win is simply and quite obviously as blind to the truth as they'd like to paint us as being.

In fact... they, like the media, are just whistling past the graveyard. Make no mistake.

Sarah Palin is coming, and the TEA Party is coming with her.

Well you have said it,The Voters were fooled by Obama and she can use that,People hate to be Made Suckers of. Obama has made a Lot of people suckers.
Sarah Palin needs to be the person she is. When everyone did not Know her, she Knocked them on their Butts with that Convention Speech, there was A reason for that and THAT is what she needs to have to overcome all that has been said about her. She has Charisma and a good Personality,go with that

You would do well to heed your own tagline.

Personal recommendations from friends go a LONG way to counteract the bullsh*t in the press.

And of course, mockery. Point out that one of the charges against her was that her *LEGAL DEFENSE FUND* was called "illegal". Even the dimmest bulb begins to figure it out at that point.

Cheers!

"Because, quite frankly, the cynical defeatist drivel offered up by Nate B. in fact deserves but to be ignored by actual thinking Americans, not applauded like some particularly prescient precept"

I totally agree, and could not have said it better!

When will we learn? Against my better judgement I held my tongue (and nose) and supported W. During his 1st primaries I nearly got kicked off Free Republic for warning that he was a "One World" Globalist. It was only my sincere respect for Jim Robinson that I shut up and actively supported him(volunteered locally and sent money), because I was convinced that he was our ONLY hope to beat the Democrats.

What a mistake! We know now that we just got "Democrat Lite". Like I said..... when will we learn?

Maybe it's too late to matter. Many of you seem to think that is the case. You are willing to take Perry who is telling us he is a conservative (and a Republican) yet his past record says otherwise. Oh, no doubt he is better that Romney (almost anyone is), but I do not see him as president, championing the conservative ideals of constitutionality and standing up to the other side even though it may (and it would) mean his ratings may go down.

Rather, it is going to take someone who knows that doing the RIGHT thing is more important than ratings. Someone who can boldly without fear, stand up to the "demonic" forces that have brought our nation to its knees.

We have one more chance, dear FRiends. If we don't do it this time around, we may never get another chance. Electing democrat-lite has not worked out for us yet..... I say, if Sara runs and is willing to be our "champion" then we boldly step out and take the chance that she can indeed stand up to them and say enough is enough, we ARE getting the over-spending under control, we ARE protecting and defending our borders from foreign invasion of illegals, we ARE bringing back the rule of law (the constitution).

Unless you see democrat-lite turning this country around (and history has shown us that won't happen), then it is our only hope.

What utter hogwash and dribble! Goldwater while a likable guy personally came across as being mad as he spoke and a scowl on his face — Reagan understood the mistakes that Goldwater made and use natural upbeat sunny optimism message to the people....Sarah in the same way is always optimistic and usually decentralize herself and talk more about America people. You aren’t going to watch a rally of Sarah if you are a regular joe and walk away thinking what a racist evil women even if the media tried to pound that in

Watch the "Iowa Passion" video again.

The legendary Mrs. Whiskers pointed out that Sarah is selling herself as upbeat but determined: and enthusiasm and optimism SELLS. Look at any advertising campaign.

And that last few seconds of the commercial: every other campaign just crapped their pants.

Cheers!

Troll #1 has checked in parrotting the left-wing press.

But Sarah's not running. Romney has assured us she's not running. The Obama Regime has, as usual, chimed in to agree with Romney. The entire mainstream media continuously assure us that she's not running. If we can't trust the far left anti-American fringe to psychically predict Sarah's plans, can we trust them on anything?

FReeper Announces Breakthrough in Cure for the Ad Hominem Distemper-an Analogue of Tourette's Syndrome

Gargantua, I have pondered a while now the best way to help you with your condition. It is indeed perplexing because the regular nostrums like Ritalin seem to be of no avail. I debated offering personal counseling and I considered that I could recommend some rehabilitation centers where they can, with modern drugs, ease you through withdrawal before you embark on a 12-step program. But these are usually quite expensive and, barring a successful intervention, the patient has a very poor prognosis because he is unwilling to accept the treatment.

All the modern authorities report that the majority of patients once released from rehab inevitably wander back to their keyboards and commit the sin of personal attacks within a matter of hours. Alas, the hard and bitter truth is that the AD HOMINEM DISTEMPER which afflicts you and so many others with access to the Internet, has no known cure, as a recent article in The New England Journal of Medicine under this very title has concluded. The statistical relapse rate has been truly disheartening. That is, until now for I have by the grace of a benign Providence hit upon the solution to your compulsion which no doubt will be published in the next edition of the Journal under the working title, FReeper Announces Breakthrough to Cure the Ad Hominem Distemper-an Analogue of Tourette's Syndrome. I will be pleased to send you a reprint upon request.

It all came to me, Gargantua, as an epiphany when I contemplated your symptoms. The malady is easy to describe: The unfortunate patient, unable to deal with the substance of what he reads and bereft of factual answer for it, resorts to attacks against those whom he regards to be the author of his misery, much like the ancient Pharaohs who cut off the heads of messengers bearing bad news. Our modern Pharoah cannot, of course, physically decapitate anyone in ether-space so he becomes a mighty potentate astride his own keyboard and lashes out to assassinate the character of these cyber devils. After he has pushed the Reply button and sent his screed into cyberspace, he enjoys a rush of adrenaline and a psychotic high which, of course, is inevitably followed by a deeper low from which he cannot emerge until he finds another victim for his calumnies. The disease is progressive and up until now there has been no known cure. But I have found the certain cure and I am willing to give it away, free and without charge, out of Christian concern and solicitude for a fellow conservative. You may consider this to be charity but I am also motivated in the interests of science. Since my motives are altruistic you will observe below the absence of any claim of copyright for my breakthrough, I exact no excise for my good works. I do this not just to save you - but for all humanity, that is, to save all humanity from you.

My prescription, like all brilliant breakthroughs which are obvious only in hindsight for their simplicity and brevity, is analogous to the practice which has developed on the Rush Limbaugh radio program in which the caller, to express a whole series of complementary observations merely has to say: Dittos -and all is perfectly understood by everyone with no trouble or bother or any loss of time.

My antidote for your Ad Hominem Distemper is simplicity itself: Whenever you feel an attack coming on do not resist, for that only leads to the cold sweats, rather, you should embrace it because, after all, acceptance of the disease and your powerlessness over it are the first steps in your recovery. Do not try to avoid your keyboard but eagerly reach out for it. We know that you have nothing to say about the substance of the matter, we know that you've been confused by the reality with which you have been confronted, we know how feverish and insecure you feel as a result, we know how much you feel the need to blackguard someone. Nevertheless, go confidently to your keyboard without any anxiety that you will compulsively vituperate - as though you were some wretched victim of Tourette's syndrome - and take your keyboard stoutly in hand to gallantly type the following:

TOUCHÉ

(recent results of phase lll clinical trials have shown that the better course of therapy is to encourage the patient to write the word in italics and in bold letters because it seems to bolster self-esteem, a pathological deficiency common to all these unfortunates)

Now there, don’t you see how much easier and lighter you feel in your soul? Instead of betraying to the world the poverty of your intellectual estate, you have made a clean breast of your ignorance, which is different from rank stupidity, and it is anyway the first step in your recovery program. More, you will be awarded points because you show the world that you are a bigger man and by no means petty. The therapeutic effects of this balm cannot be overestimated. Phase llB and pivotal phase lll clinical trials have shown that, although my remedy may be sublime, it is not wholly perfect because it brings no cheap and easy rush, no high, but then no crash either, no withdrawal, no need for the next fix. Instead, you can have your life back.

Your friend,

Nathan
