Is it too much to ask whether we have any prospects out there who are proven leaders, solid conservative values and maybe a little combat time?

All we get are these mealy-mouthed self-interested hairpieces who want the job but aren't worthy of it - or just completely deranged, like Ron Paul.

Take a look at Herman Cain. His biggest weakness is he's short on political experience, which is a valid point, but he's got an impressive resume and he seems a solid conservative. His time may be at hand.

Of all of them, I like Cain and Gingrich the best; Herman Cain has the best integrity and honesty and credibility and Gingrich has the greatest depth of political experience and ideas.

Just wish either one had led a rifle company at some point of their lives. I am a Vietnam veteran and both men are of my generation. At least Mr. Cain served in the Navy as a civilian ballistician.

Serving while our country was at war would have made them appreciate the price of freedom to a greater depth and serve them well as President.

Nonetheless, I'm sending some cash to the Cain and Gingrich campaigns.
