20 years ago, I attended a Pavarotti concert ... in DC. There was a slightly higher than I expected security presence, but they weren't searching people or doing anything I thought was onerous. I had a knife in my pocket (as always), a fact of which officialdom was completely unaware and unconcerned. I cannot have been the only person so equipped.
Turns out GHW Bush and the Prime Minister of Japan were both in attendance.

The truly frightening part is this : in his mind, and the mind of his army of flying monkeys, the requirement was both reasonable and justified.
He must assume that most of us know more about his hidden agendas than we actually do!
