The story is already out of date. Ernst ran an energetic primary campaign that turned lackluster in the general election.
She’s let a flood of ads claiming she’s a Koch brothers stooge go unanswered. She’s backtracked on her smaller-government instincts.
In most polls and anecdotally on the street, she trails her Democrat competitor, a slimy, elitist lawyer who ought to be getting spanked.
