The Ben Carson Factor. We Need A Black American On The 2016 Ticket. All Agreed?

Posted on 11/10/2014 6:08:45 PM PST by Cruz_West_Paul2016

It sure looks like Ben Carson is running. And if we want to win in 2016, we need to take a good chunk of the black vote. Ben Carson can "Woo Black Voters" into the Republican Party. All he has to do is tell them the truth regarding how Dem's actually feel about them. More like using them as pawns. Adding Ted Cruz to the ticket would be our best bet. Now we have a "Black/Latino Ticket". The Carson/Cruz or Cruz/Carson ticket is considered a Dream Ticket for many conservatives. That's the ticket that will bring in lots of minority voters. We could nominate the Dream Ticket of "Walker/Pence, or Walker/Cruz",but it wont be a sure thing in Blue States. Any combination of Carson/Cruz/West is still our best bet in 2016.

I really like Ben Carson. He is a good man. That said, he probably would be a better great addition to any Presidential Cabinet. He hasn't been on the scene long enough for people to be really comfortable with his positions.

You know, this ridiculous mess really should be the turning point that makes you stop posting every stray thought as a vanity.

You said - "We need a conservative constitutionalist and a constitutionalist conservative.".

That clearly should exclude Cruz.

White Republicans will vote for Black Republicans.

Blacks vote for Democrats.

Call me wacky and weird, but I am and wish the country was race neutral. I don’t care about Obama’s favorite of his races nor do I think his skin color is the reason he is an enemy president. (I’m not an idiot: I know that that half of him did get him noticed, nominated, and elected. How stupid are all the people who were thrilled to elect an American black to the Presidency! The guy was raised by whites only, and was not very american at all!)

I am utterly neutral about whom the Pubs run re race. When I think of Ted Cruz, whom I like for our nominee, I think of his hispanic American experience as a bonus plus, not as a prerequisite for the job.

This would be the coolest thing in politics ever. Could this happen? Or is this just Conservatives’ Skittles-pooping unicorns???

Probably need a woman.....

The Dems WILL nominate Hillary Clinton or Elizabeth Warren. If the GOP did nominate a woman, it would TOTALLY neuter the Dem strategy of asking America to make History and elect the first woman President of the United States. Let me throw this out there.......
What about Susana Martinez, Republican Governor of New Mexico? Female, Hispanic........ Somebody give me some input here. Could she be the GOP "Dark Horse" of 2016 who rises to the top at the Nominating Convention?

using race and gender is a stupid reason to put someone out there.

But it would be equally stupid to reject a person because of their race or gender. Ted Cruz has a Hispanic surname, but he is ultimately qualified to be POTUS.

Shouldn’t we first see what Democrat pair we’re up against?

No arguments there - just responding to those that seem to think that Carson would be prime because he is Black, etc. Even folks on FR can be distracted and lose sight of the real goal of unseating Democrats and making any gains we can as the opportunity pops up.

I have a few things I would like to have clarified about Carson and have none at all about Cruz - if either ends up as our choice, they will have my full support against whoever the Dims put up.

I agree with you, that we should try to nominate a woman. I don't like playing identity politics or choosing a candidate based on gender, but we have to win the middle in addition to the right, and a woman would stand a better chance of that.

Even if the Dems don't nominate a woman, a Conservative female candidate would give us a counter against the Dems war on women dialog while still appealing to the right.

No, we don’t need a Black on the ticket, we need two conservative people. They could both be black, but that’s no qualification to run on the Republican ticket.

We need a conservative who will abide by our constitution which I know would be a winning strategy. End of story. Honestly, I don’t care who they are as in gender or race / what they look like, how they speak as long as they are conservative and honest.

I know a lot of people who did not vote for Romney. They voted but did write ins of their choice. We made huge mistakes the last time / splitting our votes up then the GOP came in and undermined the other candidates who all were better than Romney and Paul, in my view.

I wouldn’t just put someone in front because it would be the first this: first hispanic / first woman / first black American (sorry couldn’t help myself) / see who has the best policy ideas. Are they for amnesty / for new gun laws / are they for one man one woman marriage / tax reform / cut the pork and waste / against bail outs / repeal end Affordable Care act/ are they pro life/ do they understand the military purpose / are they honest or a narcissist.

And, I don’t want to hear our candidate say, there will be no investigations on the Obama administration because the prize is the White House. I want a person who will not be intimated by the liberal media and the republican insiders and do what is right. Eventually, they will have to deal with this because the public has caught onto the corruption and lawlessness. How does parents tell their children, to follow rules, regulations when the highest office does not. Right time, handle this for the country.

so if the Dem’s run Bozo The Clown, then we have to run Ronald McDonald?

Why would you post this? Palin rocks. Hope she runs but I don’t know.
