Ted Cruz Impresses NYC's Jewish Donors in Whirlwind Stopover

Sen. Ted Cruz is in New York City paying visits to some of the nation's most powerful Jewish leaders — including a private two-hour session with billionaire casino owner Sheldon Adelson, the largest donor to Republican causes during the 2012 presidential election — to dispel any concerns about Cruz's politics and electability.

The Texas Republican, a likely candidate for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination, sat by Adelson during Sunday night's Zionist Organization of America dinner, which featured Cruz in a prominent speaking role, reports The New York Observer.

On Monday, after Cruz and Adelson met privately, a source close to the Venetian casino magnate told the Observer that while he likes Cruz, he also believes he is "too right wing" and is likely to be a long shot for the nomination.

Adelson bristled at the characterization, however, telling the newspaper he was "the only one in a position to know how he felt" about Cruz, the Observer wrote in an updated account.

In addition to Adelson, others attending the dinner on Sunday included attorney Alan Dershowitz, Pastor John Hagee, Home Depot founder Bernie Marcus, billionaire Ira Rennert and Rabbis Avi Weiss and Shmuley Boteach, among others.

Many of those attending said they found Cruz, a Princeton Law School graduate, well-spoken and engaging, the Observer reported....

Ted Cruz could make a great pitch to Jewish voters: Imagine a world without Israel. Barack Obama does.

Cruz is far and away my first choice. Carson or Palin next choices.

He went to both schools. Dershowitz said he was the most competent Constitutional scholar he had ever met. He was at Harvard Law School; and wrote for the Harvard Law Review.

Cruz graduated from both schools with high honors, and he was a “debate champion” at both schools.

He’s unflappable .. with a steel spine. Just what America needs to get past the idiocy of the left.

Oh yeah .. the left is terrified of him and so are the repubs.

LOL ..!!!! I love it!

It was Harvard Law. Dershowitz was his law professor.

Gen 12:3 - “I will bless those who bless you”. God was speaking to Abraham (the leader of the Jewish people).

The one thing that not has not been brought up in the press about Hitlery is this (& this is from her backers & supporters). It really hasn’t hit the wave yet because it is still “too early” because she hasn’t announced her solid intention to run.

This is the piece of the puzzle that is yet to be revealed by those opposing Hitlery and it is this: Vote for her and you get Bill Clinton all over again.

To think Hitlery would be even nominated is another stretch long democrat rule and who’s to say that Big Willie would not influence her.

Wait & Watch - for this to come out. Then the demos will throw up Elizabeth Warren (puke in my mouth)

Cruz must run. I want to see him debate, and to really dissect his intentions.

If Cruz is a friend of Sheldon Adelson then he is no friend of America.

Adelson cares about two things: Israel and mass immigration. There is nothing conservative about him. He certainly does not care about conserving the traditional American nation.

Israel is a separate country. Standing up for America involves nothing more than standing up for America; our attitude to Israel has nothing to do with our survival as a nation. Indeed our sycophantic support for Israel has imposed massive costs with no real benefits.

The Jews are a separate people, distinct from the White Christian Europeans who established the United States and formed the core of its population (until the disastrous 1965 Hart-Celler immigration act); our destinies are not linked.

Adelson cares infinitely more about Israel than he does about illegals. (He doubtless employs plenty of illegals, but his casinos are unionized so he’s paying them far higher wages than most U.S. citizens get when working in the hospitality industry.)

If he’s smart he’ll recognize the need to keep the Republican party politically viable through retaking the Presidency in 2016. A Republican Party that can’t get the White House means the certain takeover of military and foreign policy by anti-Israel people.

Democrats of Hillary’s generation, or Obama’s, may be rhetorically or sentimentally anti-Israel but don’t perceive themselves free to take substantive action in that direction. Younger Democrats who aren’t Jewish are monolithically pro-Palestinian and younger Jewish liberals are too embarrassed to make Israel a do-or-die issue.

Indeed our sycophantic support for Israel has imposed massive costs with no real benefits.

Standing with Israel is the same as standing for freedom. Governor Sarah Palin understands that America's interests are enhanced by an empowered Israel.

Sheldon Adelson thinks Ted Cruz is “too right wing” to win the presidency...

America desperately needs a hard turn to the right to save the Republic.

Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice!
