Same story as the rest of the nation - local politics. While AL is a red state, Birmingham, where Pat Todd resides, is an urban, socialist craphole. It is 72% black and is heavily influenced by the cultural Marxists who dominate the University of Alabama-Birmingham and The Birmingham News.
Back in the 1950’s, due to being stationed at Ft. McClellan outside of Anniston, I spent many happy times in Birmingham.
As the years rolled past the Pittsburgh of the South has changed dramatically.
There is one very good senator from Alabama, however, and his name is Jeff Sessions.
