Winning a Senate seat in Texas, a reliably “red” state, is a bit different from winning votes in the swing states.

The Texas GOPe was against Ted Cruz and wanted Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst in the seat instead. Even Dewhurst critic Dan Patrick (the new Lt. Gov.) opposed Cruz and supported David.

Not when you start at 3% in the polls, you have no name recognition to speak of, your own Party hates you and fights you as hard as the Democrats, and your opponent out-raises you 6 to 1.
It's exactly the same and Ted Cruz CRUSHED Dewhurst by 16% in spite of all of that!

NO IT’S NOT!! I am one Texan who is tired of hearing that crap. It’s not different. He ran against a big-money, 25 year entrenched, Texas millionaire, politician, who was endorsed by all the Texas newspapers, the Governor and all the GOP Establishment “big-wigs” and CRUZ KICKED HIS ASS WITH NOTHING BUT A RAG-TAG, GRASS-ROOTS ARMY OF PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE IN THE CONSTITUTION AND TRADITIONAL, AMERICAN VALUES! Do not underestimate Ted Cruz.
