Why should he quit? Because you don’t like his Cruz articles?

“He is to the Right of Reagan...but for many of you “Conservatives” on this site, if he aint’ 100% in your camp, he ain’t no good”

I dare not require a candidate to be 100% in my camp. I do require that they vote against the Obama agenda. Cruz does not. Rhetoric is right on, of course, but when it is time for voting, it’s all in with Obama.

Which have lowered the cost and increased the standard of living for the vast majority of Americans. Free trade is the pathway to prosperity not protectionism and trade barriers.

That’s silly spin and cluelessness.

If I had said that protectionism and trade barriers were the pathway to prosperity, that would have been “silly spin and cluelessness”.

Cruz does not?

This statement alone disqualifies you from any rational dialogue. You haven’t been paying attention and you obviously have forgotten that CRUZ has been the most STRIDENT defender of the anti-Obama agenda.

So, tell me, who do you support?

“CRUZ has been the most STRIDENT defender of the anti-Obama agenda.”

1.) Obama’s agenda is to get TPA, the enabling legislation that will allow him to get the TOP SECRET TPP and similar TOP SECRET bills passed. Cruz voted for TPA, and the Obama agenda.

2.) Obama’s agenda is to get passed the Iranian agreement that will allow, among other things, Iran to develop nuclear weapons and ICBMs. Cruz voted for this bill.

3.) Obama’s agenda is to increase all types of immigration. Cruz has called for a five-fold increase in H-1B visas and an increase in legal immigration, and a legalization of illegal immigrants.

4.) Question: Why is it irrational for me to say that Cruz is supporting the Obama agenda? The stridency that you refer to is rhetoric only. Actions are what matters.

LOL...TPA was around in 1991. Were you complaining then? Probably not.

To think that Cruz supports Obama in any way, shows you have an agenda....otherwise, you have got to be one of the dumbest people on FR....and lately, there are a lot of you.

Get a grip...tell me who you support.

If I had thought what we’ve been calling free trade is FAIR TRADE, that would be “silly spin and cluelessness.”

‘Fair Trade’ is just another excuse for high tariffs and other barriers to trade to ‘protect’ American jobs. The reality is that ‘Fair Trade’ is just a euphemism for using government to transfer wealth from one group of Americans to another group. I cannot see how a true conservative would support such measures.

Since NAFTA was passed, we have an $11 trillion trade deficit.

Yeah, I know it was supposed to open up markets for our products and services but the greatest transfer (redistribution) of our wealth has been to other nations. Yeah, I know some people have benefited from it but, overall, it hasn’t been good for the USA. And if you don’t know there hasn’t exactly been FAIR TRADE, you’re not as up on the subject as you try to come across.

I work with multiple industries, I’ve got a very long list I could provide.

So what was our trade deficit before we passed NAFTA?

I really don’t consider myself an expert on trade. But, I’m sure I’ve got at least as much expertise as the average poster here on Free Republic. That said, tariffs and other artificial barriers to trade sound good but they have the effect of depressing the standard of living for those who are not in the ‘protected’ industries and elevating the standard of living for those who are, ie, picking winners and losers and transfer wealth from one to another.

Essentially, I believe government should stay out of trade agreements and should not be in the business of determining who wins and who loses in international trade.
