It seems a lot better to hear this stuff, more authentic, from people other than the candidate themselves. When I hear a lot of other people saying stuff like this, it would have a more genuine impact on me than if the candidate themselves say this. Otherwise it cannot help but come across as a bit self-aggrandizing. Even with personable candidates.
