Trump GOP Candidacy Blows Up: Refuses to Rule Out Third Party Bid (Bushies "We've finally got him")
The Weekly Standard ^ | July 18, 2015 | Stephen F. Hayes

Posted on 07/18/2015 3:58:51 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Ames, Iowa - Donald Trump confirmed two things during a stop in this central Iowa town Saturday: He has no class and he may well run as an independent when he does not win the Republican nomination.

There had been considerable public evidence of both long before his appearance here today at the Family Leader Summit but Trump, who is leading several national polls of the Republican primary, erased any doubt with comments he made about Senator John McCain and a prospective independent bid.

Trump was answering questions from Republican pollster Frank Luntz on stage when he declared that John McCain, who spent six years as a POW in Vietnam, was not a war hero. Trump went on to express his preference for soldiers who weren’t captured, suggesting a belief that prisoners of war have some say in their captivity. Luntz had asked Trump about his reaction to McCain’s comment that Trump had stirred up the “crazies” with his candidacy. When Trump attacked McCain, Luntz asked if Trump was comfortable with that kind of criticism of a war hero.

“He’s not a war hero,” said Trump. “He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.” The comments clearly shocked the crowd at the summit, some of whom reacted with boos and shouts of condemnation.

McCain was shot down flying combat missions in Vietnam on October 26, 1967. He was taken captivity with a broken right leg and fractures in both arms. He was beaten and tortured repeatedly, in part because his father commanded the U.S. Navy in the Pacific....

I just watched the controversial part of the interview. The written report is misleading at best. I think it is a repeat of the "crowd booed" lie told by AP, and similar fabricated events.

Trump's response to Luntz's needling was fine. No controversy, unless you are McCain.

Good lord. McCain deserves every nasty word anyone has ever said about his Senate “service.” But attacking him for his military service? For being captured? Have you no shame?

What has McCain done for this country into last 30 years? What has Trump done in the last 30 years?

Yep, Perot was only in it to see Clinton get into office. You can see how quickly Perot was nominated to a cabinet position as payoff.

Of course, it had nothing to do with George HW Bush - Perot stole his votes.

Stephen F Hayes: you wish Trump would go third party! He has already stated he’s going Republican because that’s how he can win. Do you think he’s going to split the vote with Bush so that Shrillary can win?
I sincerely doubt it.

Off microphone boos and shouts of condemnation, that is.

What, exactly, has Trump done for this country in the past 30 years?

The difference is jobs, and lots of them.

not only mind-blowingly stupid, but spectacularly counterproductive. every time this jagoff says something retarded (and that seems to happen daily), the MSM goes into a frenzy, and it becomes impossible for the real candidates — cruz, walker, for example — to get their message out.

john mccain’s status as a war hero is a massive zero as a national campaign issue, but it’s all we’re talking about today.

Then why is he funding a conservative McCain challenger in the primaries
++++
I have no idea but I’m pretty certain that his threat to run 3rd Party looks and smells like Perot. And Trump, a pretty smart guy, certainly realizes that if he does we will not have a Republican President elected in 2016.

His declaration, his threat, looks to me like the actions of a small child who didn’t get his way. That’s a Trump Deal-Killer for me. We don’t need another temper tantrum President.

Job A group of homogeneous tasks related by similarity of functions.

When performed by an employee in an exchange for pay, a job consists of duties, responsibilities, and tasks (performance elements) that are (1) defined and specific, and (2) can be accomplished, quantified, measured, and rated. From a wider perspective, a job is synonymous with a role and includes the physical and social aspects of a work environment. Often, individuals identify themselves with their job or role (foreman, supervisor, engineer, etc.) and derive motivation from its uniqueness or usefulness.

I think Patton said “I’m not asking you to die for your country, I’m asking you to make the other dumb bastard die for his”.
Or something like that.

No kidding because Trump has a lions share of the polls and Cruz is way down there.

Without Trump you might just get Hillary.

Rinos are as bad liars as their democrat liberal friends. Personally, the more the evil rinos and dems attack Trump for being honest the more I like him for being plain spoken and not just another rino right wing troll from hell who supports democrat communism by their arrogants and ignorant disrespect of Trump. We need a third party anyway as the rinos are becoming democrats one by one.

Looking at this with the litmus test of who each of the R candidates would appoint to the Supreme Court if elected. One of the more important things in my opinion.

Trump would be way down the list; probably the bottom.

Its been good to have him in the race to shake things up; but he definitely isn’t the guy.
Its early; he will be forgotten in 6 months.
