Walker Gets Tromped By Trump

(VIDEO-AT-LINK)

Donald Trump unloaded on Scott Walker over the weekend while in Iowa:

He went down a list of criticisms that seemed the result of an overnight opposition-research effort. “Wisconsin is doing terribly,’’ he said. “The roads are a disaster because they don’t have any money to rebuild them, and they’re borrowing money like crazy.’’

He cited figures for the state’s budget deficit. “I wrote this stuff all down but I don’t need it because I have a really good memory,” he said.

He also accused Mr. Walker of flip-flopping on the Common Core education standards, having once supported them. “Scott Walker changed when he saw he was getting creamed, so now he’s not in favor,’’ he said.

By the way, for once, everything The Donald said about Walker was true.

What set Trump off was some adolescent name-calling by a Walker ally in a fundraiser email:

A fundraiser for Scott Walker’s presidential campaign called Donald Trump “DumbDumb” in a fundraising invitation and said electing the New York developer would be “a total and complete disaster for the country.”

“As you’ve seen Gov Walker is now well ahead of everyone not named DumbDumb (aka Trump) in the national polls,” wrote Walker fundraiser Gregory Slayton, a New Hampshire venture capitalist who served as consul general to Bermuda during the George W. Bush administration. “He’s also a plain spoken member of the 99% (as opposed to someone pretending to be so)…and that will be a KSF in 2016.”

Walker's campaign, took its sweet time to respond to this kerfuffle, but did not denounce the name calling:

Walker spokeswoman Kirsten Kukowski said: “Americans are frustrated with the direction of our country and we owe them a positive conversation about how we move forward together. With that in mind, the governor is going to talk about what he is for and not against and would encourage others to do the same.”

Team Walker is probably feeling pretty nervous for good reason. In New Hampshire, Walker is in a distant third place behind Trump and Jeb Bush. In Iowa, where Walker was a shining star, he's seen his remarkable lead dwindle to just two points ahead of Trump, who keeps climbing in the polls despite - or maybe because - of his outrageous ongoing commentary.

While Trump might be nothing more than a flash in the pan, if he can make Walker's campaign crash and burn, that's perfectly all right by me.

Jeff Simpson obviously has a thing for bashing Scott Walker, as seen by his own admission at the end of the piece.

Oh well.

I still support Walker.

Just a thought here, what if Trump wins most of the primaries with a plurality, but not a majority, and show up at the convention with say 40% of the delegates? Can the GOP really deny him and give it to someone with half as many delegates and votes? Would they dare risk him running 3rd party? Or nominate him and then do everything they can to undermine him? I suspect most of the GOP-e would rather see Hillary president than Trump.

Now, learn the truth

The best straw does not know that he is a straw. Trump is not a conservative, has given money to the Clintons, has flip flopped on abortion, and on other issues important to conservatives. He may even know well that he is a straw and wants a Hilldabeast presidency. Trump is trying to wreck the GOP candidacy for his own reasons. Running third party would confirm this. He needs to be exposed for what he is.

Walker is a very weak candidate. Firstly, no one knows who the hell he is. ZERO name recognition nationally. Second, his liberal wife and kids are enthusiastically pro-gay marriage. Third, he is not handsome, and pasty. Fourth, his wife is chubby and homely. FAIL. We live in a celebrity-obsessed culture. Obama mastered it for two cycles. Walker would dissolve in it. Trump, arriving with Melania on his 757 and stretch limos and red carpet would electrify it, and wipe the crusty Hillary off the stage.

Trump was doing well with the Reagan program for getting elected. I fear he has sidestepped into bashing the other Republicans rather than bashing Hussein and Mrs. Bill. So far Cruz has got that part right.

I wish I could take Walker’s two terms as Governor and transfer that to Cruz.

I still think Senators make weaker candidates compared to Governors. That said, Cruz all the way.

Like Abraham Lincoln, who only served on two-year term in the House of Representatives prior to his presidency?

Did you hear Trump calling Mrs. Bill a "criminal"?

Wow there is some very deep thinking. We see that Obama's wife is a real babe? Right

I embarrassed for you. Trump is a caricature of himself. I would be surprised if he believes anything he says. A walking talking SNL skit.

So is no-neck Hillary and her Tiberius-like husband (he of the skin problems as a seemingly direct result of syphilis) an impediment to success?

Be great to see classy beautiful women back in the WH. Ivanka and her darling husband and children and Trump’s wife. No more boob belts, bare men arms and 12 year old birthday party dresses. Maybe smiles from the children that would live there instead of bored, entitled princess smugness.

If Trump makes is all the way to the GOPe convention it would be far too late for him to run “third party” or as an independent. Too many sore loser laws in too many states, and far too many elapsed petition deadlines.

No difference between the GOPe and the Rats, so Trump is right to take them on.....with them out of the way he’ll turn his attention to the Rats.

Typical Republican hack talk. They say this kind of stuff to the press, while quietly knifing you in the back.

I do not think Trump will ever reside in the White House—but he has shook up the soda pop a great deal. He would be a great VP (if he would take the Job). But, I can be wrong—maybe he can comeout as a King Maker. If he selects the next president—it might well be Cruz. I can live with that.

Walker is the Establishment back up candidate if they can’t push Jeb.

Walker was for Common Core before he was against it.
Walker is for Open Borders
Walker was for Amnesty before he was against it.
Walker is for Rigid Trade Deals

Walker predicted a surplus of 1 Trillion dollars and ended up with debt of 2 Trillion dollars

Plus the media will destroy him for being a college dropout.

Finally, Walker WILL SELL CONSERVATIVES out. He will go McCain/Romeny on you. In other words Walker is a fall guy just like Jeb.

Rest assured if Walker gets the nomination..., then the Democrats will win.
