These are the same "Republican strategists" who said he'd never run, never officially declare, never reveal his finances and was finished when he insulted McCain.

Is Jebbie happy that about 9 million disaffected Republicans would never in a million years vote for him if Trump does, in fact, turn out to be his stalking horse? We’re not backing Trump to end up with another RINO.

“Mr. Bush’s top strategists, who have become increasingly fixated on halting Mr. Walker, believe that Mr. Trump is nothing short of a godsend”

I wonder of this is like Carter’s people thinking Reagan as an opponent was a godsend?

As I see it, Mr Trump draws attention away from Gov Walker. Yeb is hated by conservatives and barely a pantywaist thought to the rest of the world. Should Mr Trump flame out for whatever reason, I hope Gov Walker has all of his skeletons hidden very well.

This guys argument goes to “hell with gasoline drawers on” due to the fact that Trump is beating Jeb, and Rubio in FL.

If Jeb loses FL, stick a fork in him.

He’s dead, Jim.

My only problem with Trump is that he agreed with the Kelo decision. I flat out don't.

Cruz is still the one so far, imho.

If Trump stays in all the way, they are going to have to
pull some very serious shenanigans to give the nomination
to Bush. But I doubt very seriously they are going to
let Trump have it just like there was no way they were
going to let Ron Paul have it. That’s why they are saying
they have to win without their base because they know in
the end they aren’t going to have it. Just like with
Romney, the base is going to stay home and refuse to vote
for another fraud. The choice has already been made, now
they have the task of setting it up to look like a legitimate
win.

...Privately, Mr. Bush’s top strategists, who have become increasingly fixated on halting Mr. Walker, believe that Mr. Trump is nothing short of a godsend. That is because Mr. Trump is drawing support from voters — blue-collar, less-educated, more conservative — who are unlikely ever to support Mr. Bush but are essential to Mr. Walker’s candidacy.....

The full WSJ/NBC poll won't be released until today. In all the reporting (I've been able to locate), Walker's "My 2nd Choice" numbers are judiciously absent.

Donald Trump Surges in New NBC News/WSJ Poll

"...Jeb Bush is the second choice of 16 percent of respondents, with Carson, Trump, and Rubio all winning the second choice spot from 11 percent of voters....."

Donald Trump Leads Republican Presidential Pack, WSJ/NBC Poll Finds

"......The new poll, whose full results will be released Monday, was based on a survey conducted July 26-30, after Mr. Trump made widely publicized controversial statements, such as when he disparaged former GOP presidential nominee John McCain.

The differences among the top-tier candidates are small enough that they are within the poll’s margin of sampling error. Still, the double-digit jump among Republicans picking Mr. Trump as their first choice—up from 1% in the June poll—was significant.

What’s more, Republicans who don’t see Mr. Trump as their first choice seem to be warming to him. The share of GOP voters who pick him as second choice rose to 11% in the new survey from 3% in June...."

Why would they think if moderates panic they will go for Jebbie? If anything it’s helping Walker move up to second place. Walker started out as everybody’s second choice.

Riiiiight - another article said Jeb sees the upside of Trump’s presence - I noted he has to crane his neck to look up at Donald’s receding butt and the only upside visible is the upper regions of Trump’s colon. If the Jeb camp is using Trump as a sign of its future success, it is scared to death and knows it is losing by trying to get “conservatives” to dump Trump.

This is Jeb Bush’s attempt to control the narrative, give themselves that veneer of inevitability by pretending that this is all part of his plan — that he’s playing rope-a-dope and secretly has the support of the voters to win the GOP nod.

Powerline is Owned by a huge Lib GOP DC insider and big Jeb bot supporter-Donor.
The fact he is letting fellow K street Amnesty lobbyists peddle there latest Chamber of Crony capitalist lies about Trump or Cruz ( another threat) is not a shock.

The DC crowd wants a owned K street boy like a Jebbie or Rubio or Walker.
The fact Walker has hired George Will wife and Smear merchant Dayspring to run his DC PAC and Romney campaign manager and ex RnC staff tell us who is the back up option for the Powerline lawyer crowd.

“The longer it goes, the greater the panic is going to build,” said Alex Castellanos, a longtime Republican strategist.

A fat, skanky political PIMP, that sells his "wisdom" to which ever cable news show that needs to fill 45 seconds with political, pimp blather. Alex is a shame to his mother.

To say Trump is a stalking horse for Jeb is pure BS. Bush with his pro illegal, name factor, RINO, establishment, etc. is history.

Interesting points.....not sure how to take them tho.

Generally it appears that Trump hurts Bush but according to this article Trump helps Bush? The writer has some valid points. Bush needs to be knocked out before the Florida primary...if not he is the nom. Like it or not.

At some point Carson, Paul, Huckster supporters will have to make a choice because these three cannot win and support for them is support for Bush.
