Twain being Twain.
I remember reading that Twain had concerns for the soul of his friend George Bernard Shaw who was a full on Fabian socialist who liked the idea of exterminating people deemed useless to socialism.
Hmmm. Didn’t know that. Not surprised though. Off to church now.
