Donald Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, will be joining forces to protest the Iran nuclear deal in the coming days.

At an event in South Carolina, Trump said he and Cruz will go to Washington, D.C. some time in the next two weeks for "essentially a protest against a totally incompetent deal we're making with Iran."

Cruz's campaign confirmed that he had invited Trump to join him on the Capitol grounds, where the two will call on Congress "to defeat the catastrophic deal that the Obama Administration has struck with the Islamic Republic of Iran."(continued)

Strange since Trump did not come out against the deal last week, he said there were good parts and all that

Are they inviting We The People by the millions to DC to join in?

Trump said the Iran deal was a disaster. He’s said this several times.

This is simply unbelievable. What a strategic move. These two are acting as if they are going to get the nomination. Between the two of them they have close to 40% of the primary vote. That is going to be tough to compete with.

I do not see Trump as anything but POTUS but Cruz would benefit by being elevated above all the other candidates to VP so he does not have to fight and waste resources and these two bring enormous resources to the table.

This event will ensure that Trump/Cruz will be in the news cycle for another month front and center. Wow!

And then, if Trump/Cruz manage to defeat the Iran thing the polls will go through the roof. What an amazing gamble. I am sure Trump will throw so much media visibility on this that impact on all Americans will be deafening.

Truth is that Trump is a more viable candidate. After a four year stint as VP Cruz will still be only 48.

Trump and Cruz can play this game for the next four months continuing through the debates. Meanwhile Cruz can build a larger war chest, perhaps $100 million or more. Using it in four or eight years when he is either 48 or 52. Still a very young President.

Those two can get a lot of mileage out of this.

Pretty sure the GOPe hates Cruz more than they hate Trump, if that’s possible. They at least hate him as much.

No they do not if you have been reading the news this past week and watching the start of a change in reporting on Cruz.

They have worked with Cruz and know his stances and that he is a lawyer. Trump they have no way to work with and never know what direction he is going to go in or if he will even be a Republican in the end..... they know for a fact that they can not control him, shame him, or even convince him of anything, he would go directly to the Americans, over their heads and control them and any agenda.

Before Trump is done they will back Cruz fully if that if what it would take to not be under Trump.

Boehner just called him a “Jackass” at a fundraiser. And certainly McConnell, as well as all the “moderate” Republican Senators, despise him as well. He’s just too far right for them, and he has been willing to make waves since he arrived at the Senate in 2012. Cruz brought attention to the corrupt way the Senate is doing business in his book, and called McConnell a liar on the Senate floor.

None of these things can possibly endear him to the GOPe. They may be going light on him because to this point his campaign for president has not been a threat. If it were, they would go after him with a vengeance.

The GOPe want Bush or Kasich. They could live with a number of others—Graham, Christie, Fiorina.

Turmp/Cruz may well be co-presidents—One for the nuts and bolts and political stuff, the other for the big picture and deal making. But, its too early to tell. I worry that Trump might be taken out like Huey Long was long ago. I would not put such a move out of the Question for Obama and crowd.

Cruz is the best possible candidate conservatives can hope for, but Trump can win.

That's how I see it. Them teaming up will make a powerful tandem. Boehner and McConnell were already shaking in their boots, this news must be shaking the GOPe to the core.

Yep - and his comment about not caring if Trump sucks all the air out of the room shows he cares more for the Nation than for his own ego.
