It’s not that we are weak kneed. I’m just not sure that a “true” conservative like Cruz is electable given the lack of actual education from the public schools for the last 35+ years. It’s a different era since Reagan.

Trump, OTH, seems to have a more widespread “electric” effect which could draw in independents as well as some, if not many democrats.

Today, Trump. Six months - a year from now...we’ll see.

I’m stuck in CA anyway, which historically, hasn’t mattered in primaries for a long time.

I understand your sentiment, and I too am in California. Until I retire.
But I feel we are running against the weakest Democrat field in years, and after a horrible eight years of Democrat rule.
The time is right. If not now , we can never elect a conservative. I know Cruz doesn't across as “ joyful” or gregarious, but he is very smart and can articulate his positions very well.
I hope that is enough to get him elected.
