GOP Rep. Peter King: ‘The crazies have taken over the party’
MSNBC ^ | September 26, 2015 | Zachary Roth

The abrupt resignation of House Speaker John Boehner shows that “the crazies have taken over the party,” Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) said Friday.

“I think it signals the crazies have taken over the party, taken over to the party that you can remove a speaker of the House who’s second in line to be president, a constitutional officer in the middle of his term with no allegations of impropriety, a person who’s honest and doing his job. This has never happened before in our country,” King said in an interview on CNN. “He could have stayed on.”

King praised Boehner, who told House Republicans at a Friday morning meeting that he would step down in October, for doing an “outstanding job.”

Boehner’s resignation came amid intense pressure from extreme conservative members to eliminate federal funding for Planned Parenthood, even at the cost of shutting down the government. Several times during his four-and-a-half-year tenure as speaker, Boehner has found his room to maneuver severely curtailed by his conservative wing, which opposes virtually all efforts to negotiate with the White House.

King accused conservative members of the GOP caucus of trying to “hijack and blackmail the party,” and argued that Boehner’s decision would only embolden them....

Not yet, Pete.

But we're working on it.

“The crazies have taken over the party!”

Well, the Republicans are in full panic mode! Seems like when they said the Tea Party was dead and gone it wasn’t. Now panic has taken hold and they finally realize that those “little people” are not at the gates with pitchforks any longer, THEY ARE INSIDE!

The Japanese said at the start of the Pacific war “I’m afraid that we have awakened a sleeping giant” and that “giant” now is the average American who has awakened and found that we have all been robbed of our liberties and freedoms by our own government.

Boehner is only the first to fall. There will be many more in the future if we can just elect Donald Trump. If he is not elected they our fate is sealed and we will continue down the slide of lost freedoms right into the cesspool of socialism, marxism, communism, and who knows what the new name of what the next virus that kills free countries will be.

King, you are right. But we’re getting rid of all of you Crazies one at a time. We started with Cantor, now Boehner, and your time is coming.

Up pops another head in the RINO version of Whack-a-Mole. They just can’t resist putting themselves on display? No more fox holes for the republican establishment.

You said: "America is a representative Democracy."

NO! The United States is a Republic. Its citizens elect representatives (the Congress). The founding fathers warned of the problems of democracy and the tyranny of the majority in many early writings. Think of the Pledge of Allegiance, "... and to REPUBLIC for which it stands..."

You will find no mention of democracy in the US Constitution.

IIRC, didn’t Peter King defend Bubba re impeachment / Lewinsky / perjury? I believe he was a GOP who voted against Bubba’s impeachment. Discernment issues for sure.

Jeb Bush was the anointed one and the “crazies” are giving him the heave ho. Yes, the Elite are in panic mode.

Who will they try to foist on us next? I guess it is Rubio.

No sale.

Romney - No thanks.

Is it any wonder 62 percent of Republican voters say the GOP has betrayed them? To the political class we’re all “crazies”. Maybe we are to have voted for these clowns.

Why do democrats NEVER apologize for their liberal base.

You mean “extreme liberal” base?

Actually we are a representative Democracy... and a Republic. What we aren’t is a direct Democracy. Being a representative democracy does not in any way make us not a Republic.
