Trump in 2008: Hillary Clinton would make a "great" president
CBS NEWS ^ | 29 Dec 15 | Donald Trump

Donald Trump wrote in a blog post during the 2008 presidential campaign that Hillary Clinton would make a "great" president or vice president.

Buzzfeed unearthed an archived webpage of the blog post posted on www.trumpuniversity.com from March 2008 when he said the Democratic presidential nomination was still far from decided.

"Hillary Clinton said she'd consider naming Barack Obama as her vice-president when she gets the nomination, but she's nowhere near a shoo-in. For his part, Obama said he's just focused on winning the nomination, although at least one member of his team said Clinton would make a good vice-president. (I know Hillary and I think she'd make a great president or vice-president.)," Trump wrote.

Buzzfeed had previously found another blog post Trump wrote in December of 2008, following President Obama's victory, in which he praised Clinton again.

The thing about primaries is that they are a state by state battle. I live in Florida and Trump has visited us several times and made some great speeches. If Cruz has been here, he didn’t advertise much.

So, as we get closer to the Florida primary, I hope he steps his game up enough to get in here and win Florida. But, if he can’t defeat Trump in Florida, how does he expect to defeat Hillary, the media, and the hordes of illegal voters?

I haven’t received a phone call from a single Cruz supporter. I haven’t received a mailer yet. I’m glad that you were able to make such a firm choice so early. But he hasn’t said anything to me to cause me to become the die-hard fan that you are. When will Cruz make a move?

Yea, that does it it. I’m convinced, he’s lib. I’m now all in for Yeb too!

Just look at these fanatical left wing positions he has posted on https://www.donaldjtrump.com/positions

“The Second Amendment to our Constitution is clear. The right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed upon. Period.”

“NATIONAL RIGHT TO CARRY: driver’s license works in every state, so it’s common sense that a concealed carry permit should work in every state...”

” A nation without borders is not a nation. There must be a wall across the southern border. “

“Strengthen our negotiating position by lowering our corporate tax rate to keep American companies and jobs here at home,...”

” Defend The Laws And Constitution Of The United States
America will only be great as long as America remains a nation of laws that lives according to the Constitution. ... “

Man, I might as well be voting for Bernie! Hell.. I guess is is just like the Terminator as some others have said.. lol </SARC>

It’s a waste of time. Trump supporters have sold what ever core principles they had to join the cult of personality.

Yup. Trump is a cult of personality pretending to be a conservative now that it suits his interests. He is saying things many conservatives and right of center voters badly want to hear said, but they don't see they are being fooled by a self serving, self promoting con man. Never mind that the things Trump says are often directly the opposite of what he said in the not so distant past. At this point, I am not sure anything Trump utters would matter for the dedicated Trumpster. It is truly sad to watch - especially when we have a genuine ideological conservative in the race like Ted Cruz.

I have been a very conservative all my life and I support Trump. I held my nose and voted for the last 2 candidates. It is odd that I am conservative because in the small MS town I grew up in, republican was not a word used very often. Way back then, the dems were a lot different. GO TRUMP. BTW, I will be 72 next month.

All I’ve got to say is that at LEAST Trump has the gonads to call out the current governmental BS that makes ME mad.

I’d prefer Ted Cruz, but like I said, Donald will at least call out against the crap going on.

All the career politicians are afraid to even talk about it. Except Donald and Ted.

We all have changed positions. I remember years ago when Perry ran. I was all for him until I did some research. I changed my mind very quickly.

I’d be happy with Cruz too. But in this current campaign, Trump was the first one to come out and say he would build a wall & raise the whole issue about illegal aliens. I do believe that by Trump saying the things he has said, it has given cover for others to now ride on his coat tails.

He has brought a lot of issues to the forefront that other politicians are either afraid of addressing or simply do not believe should be addressed. I like his brashness & courage to say the “wrong thing”. He has tapped into the anger of many Americans - me included.

Compared to Obama she may have been correct back in the day... But then I don’t
want to find out beginning in Jan. 2017.

I love the kooks that say it’s OK with them if Trump became a dictator because a dictator Trump would bring the country back to it’s greatness.

ZIP! The contradiction goes right over the top of their pointed heads.

Note that while I will gladly support Trump for president, he is a constitutionally low-information citizen, imo, as evidenced by what he had said years ago about lawless Hillary. Constitution-savvy patriots who support Trump need to get him up to speed on Congresss constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers.

Trump isn’t hiding the fact he’s a liberal and most people don’t care.”

I am not a Trump fan, but I do have this to say about him. Even if he is a liberal, he is not an ideologue. That’s the problem we are faced with today. The hardcore left is trying to take over the country.

Trump is not looking to push through leftwing legislation. He is looking to fix the country and that is good enough for me at this stage of the game.

While homosexuality and abortion may be at the top of someones list, my own list says, close the border, get rid of illegal immigrants, lower taxes, rebuild our military and bring back jobs.

Yes, but Trump was only a wide-eyed innocent and uneducated 62-year-old private citizen at the time and it doesn’t matter what he said then because, uh, it only matters what he says today. Oh, oh ... and let’s not forget that his Hillary endorsement was more about his incredible, amazing, fantastic, huge business savvy and incomparable negotiation skills (Just read his book and you’ll understand all) .

Why’d he give her and Bill so much money? Why’d he support them throughout their careers?

“Trump is a liberal like Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Then again, the GOP isn’t exactly a conservative party.
Trump isn’t hiding the fact he’s a liberal and most people don’t care.”

I was really excited that Arnold was going to save California. Now look how much worse we are now. How does Trump get away with this quote? Maybe if he had just graduated from college. No conservative would ever say that about Hillary. I’ll support and vote for Trump if he’s our candidate but I’ve been bitten once before.
