“I believe the RNC and FNC are now all in for Rubio with Bush as his VP. Iâm afraid they have a plan to whack Trump near the end.”
You know, I think the GOPe plan from the beginning was to have a Bush/Rubio ticket, and try to lock up the next 16 years. Then, Bush tanked so they starting to push Rubio in a panic. But Trump threw a monkey wrench into the mix. I don’t see Jeb accepting the VP spot.
That is also correct. Smaller the turnout, more chance of polls being off.
The bigger problem for Cruz in SC is that it is an open primary. Any democrats crossing over will not break for Cruz.
The last time I read the whole constitution was for my US citizenship test back in 1970. However I believe it is unconstitutional to form a ticket with both candidates from the same state. I could be wrong on this.

The actual results?
Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich trounced front-runner Mitt Romney in South Carolina in a victory that indicates the party's battle to pick a challenger to President Barack Obama may last months, not weeks.
Gingrich's come-from-behind triumph in the primary in the conservative southern state injects unexpected volatility into a Republican nominating race that until this week appeared to be a coronation for Romney, the former Massachusetts governor and private-equity chief. Instead, voters in South Carolina rejected Romney's pitch that he is the best bet to fix a broken U.S. economy and defeat Barack Obama in the Nov. 6 election.
—————snip—————
With nearly all the votes counted, Gingrich had pulled in 40 percent of the vote, followed by Romney with 28 percent, networks reported. Santorum was in third with 17 percent and U.S. congressman Ron Paul in fourth with 13 percent. Santorum received the highest number of votes in the Iowa caucuses on January 3 and Romney won the New Hampshire primary on January 10

To recap, Gingrich was behind by 15% in the polls with just 5 days to go. After voting, Gingrich won by 12%- a swing of a massive 27% in just 5 dsys. Trumpbots would be well advised not to counterfeit chickens yet. It's months long after Iowa after all.
Glad to be of help. But whiskey does the same thing LOL.
I have never heard that before, I find that very interesting.
“Another tragic poll for Cruz.”
The Cruzbots keep saying he is going to carry the South.
You forgot one major difference between Romney and Trump.
Romney’s support was a mile wide and one inch deep.
Trump voters are bullet proof. Like Trump said jokingly, he could shoot someone in NY city, and still get his supporters to stay with him.
Sorry to dash your hopes. Sorry, Cruz is toast in SC.
I am guessing the framers did not want too much power in any one particular state.
GOPe is now pushing Rubio. So, it is quite possible.
They all get one vote like you and I. If Cruz loses to Rubio it is because Cruz did not get the job done.
I agree with you. Sometimes I think the RNC planned to put Bush in there all along too...so Hillary could easily win. Trump and Cruz have both knocked the RNC off their game.
The RNC, with the help of FNC have decided who our eventual candidate would be the last two presidential cycles. IMO, they chose weak candidates both times on purpose.
I don’t understand how a Freeper of your vintage could possibly prefer Rubio over...well, just about any other candidate.
The man sold out to the open borders cartel, as his first order of business, upon arriving in DC.
Do you truly not recall him trying to sell amnesty for illegals to the American right in 2013?
Thump!
The worst thing has happened to Cruz. He got cheating in Iowa. And Rubio exposed Cruz’s flip flops on amnesty. And Trump unloaded on Cruz during the last debate calling him the worst liar straight on his face.
Reputation is like virginity. Once lost, not easy to repair.
I think it will be Trump - Rubio. Trump can slap him around until he gets his act together after 8 years under Trump’s leadership. That would be 16 years for us. I can take it. We’ve had worse.
Well Bush will just say he was born in Texas (I guess he was?)
He’ll say he was just helping the folks in FL. for awhile :)
WOOT!
OOPS! But if RCP did not include it, I am no smarter than RCP.
Reputation is like virginity. Once lost, not easy to repair.
lol. Very true. Cruz is done. We just need the goodbye sermon.....good Lord that will be 2 hours. If “winning” Iowa gave us 40 minutes of hell, I can’t imagine how long his “suspending his campaign” sermon is going to be.
