What is it with everybody wanting VP picks after only 3 states have voted in the Primary?

If body language is any consideration, I think he has already asked Nikki Haley to be his Veep.

So the cabana Boy and crazy uncle Johnny should team up?

What could possibly go wrong?

Caveat: I am firmly, emphatically anti-Trump; I believe a Trump nomination would be disastrous for conservatism regardless of the outcome in November. My first choice was Walker, but I have always liked Cruz and Rubio; Cruz was my first choice after Walker dropped out.

That said, I now see Rubio as the only plausible candidate to defeat Trump, so I now support him for the nomination, despite his flaws. I find Kasich to be basically useless, but if I were advising Rubio, I would tell him to offer Kasich the VP slot, simply as a means of removing him from the race and consolidating the anti-Trump vote. I have no desire to see Kasich as the VP, but I’ll take Kasich as VP over Trump as the nominee in a heartbeat.

I would also like to see Rubio offer Cruz a seat on the Supreme Court. Unlike the Kasich situation, I actually *want* Cruz on the court; I think he would make an extraordinary justice. And I think it’s a better “prize” than the VP slot; a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court at age 45 would be hard to turn down, if Cruz were to believe that Rubio had a decent shot at being elected (which I do believe he would, if Cruz and Kasich dropped out).

I don’t know how to get Carson to drop out; he’s kind of in his own little world.

I’ll probably get flamed a bit for the Kasich thing - I don’t like him any more than you do, but I see stopping Trump as an absolute necessity, and desperate times call for desperate measures.

Also - before you flame me as a typical establishment guy or something like that, note my FR signup date and my posting history. My problem with Trump is that he is **not a conservative**. Being an asshole and a bully is not a virtue; “fighting” is not a virtue if the bully is not on our side, and Trump is not on our side.

Meg was begging Kasich to take the VP slot last night. It was pathetic to watch.

Pray America wakes

Sabato knows no more about politics than the average freeper, and in many cases less.

‘Sabato’ is the root word for ‘sabotage’.
