A main difference between the elites and the regular folks is that we want to see Hillary (or Bernie) lose while they want to see their approved candidate win and damn the country if things don’t go their way.

I’m fine with Cruz or Trump or Carson, and I wouldn’t be too terribly disappointed with Rubio as long as it gets the White House out of Democrat Socialist hands.

It may well come down to this or an Obama pardon.

Former United States Attorney General Michael Mukasey tells MSNBC that not only is Hillary Clinton’s private email server illegal, but that it “disqualifies” her from holding any federal office.

Such as, President of the United States.

“If you do this or that bad thing, you’ve essentially disqualified yourself as being the leader of the free world,” said Mukasey, referring to the illegal server and the illegal handling of classified materials.

Mukasey specifically points to one federal law, Title 18. Section 2071.

For those of us who do not have United States Code committed to memory, here’s what it says:
“(a)
Whoever willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, or destroys, or attempts to do so, or, with intent to do so takes and carries away any record, proceeding, map, book, paper, document, or other thing, filed or deposited with any clerk or officer of any court of the United States, or in any public office, or with any judicial or public officer of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.
(b)
Whoever, having the custody of any such record, proceeding, map, book, document, paper, or other thing, willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, falsifies, or destroys the same, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both; and shall forfeit his office and be disqualified from holding any office under the United States. As used in this subsection, the term “office” does not include the office held by any person as a retired officer of the Armed Forces of the United States.”

Yes, it explicitly states “shall forfeit his office and be disqualified from holding any office under the United States.”

Shouldn’t voters know that? The media won’t tell them. So it’s up to us

..If we nominated Donald Trump,” Senator Marco Rubio...said ... will be the end of the modern Republican Party...

With behavior they have exhibited in the last few years, GOOD RIDDANCE.

It’s times like this that I wish that the states had amended the Constituition to give themselves the power to recall federal lawmakers.

Indeed we have 3 non establishment candidates and I’d be hapy with any , though more happy than another.
The establishment wants anyone and will back anyone who can help them to take out Trump.
Why?

Because Trump is not controlled, he has his own money.
The elitist know they cannot do anything to control him and need him gone now.
They also know their gravy train is coming ot an end and will fight toth and nal as we are seeing to keep their elitist cocktail , gravy train parties going.

No. They’re hardening their resolve against those low and dirty creatures who have the temerity to violate the wishes of their betters and vote for Trump. Republican voters.

So, can we look forward to the GOP campaigning against Trump in the General?

I want to see the RAT nominee defeated. Apparently the so-called republican establishment is willing to lose the Presidency just to make sure nobody they decide is “the chosen one” can win. Screw them.

Republican Elites Harden Resolve Against Trump as Voters Flock to Him

These so-called "elites" are a perfect example of why George Washington abhorred the rise of political parties. They seek to subvert the will of The People and the good of The Country in favor of their own interests.

For Pete’s sake, it’s not the “elites.” It’s anybody who isn’t media-manipulated and doesn’t want a total moral degenerate and self-obsessed lunatic in the WH.

Obama lowered the bar, and Trump, supported by the media, had no trouble buying his way over it. Actually, he probably went under the bar, but since we have a generation of voters used to nothing but trash TV (in which Trump was a specialist), this isn’t surprising.

Until the 17th Amendment, most States could at least replace their Senators at will.

What's so amazing about this is that we ordinarily think of "following the law to the letter".

This (what HRC did w/her server) is disobeying the law, to the letter.

I don't see where the ambiguity is. Plus, she signed the NDA upon assuming office as SOS.

It feels like we are in this synthetically suspended reality, waiting to see if real reality will impinge upon our synthetic one.
