Ted Cruz’s campaign manager is calling on GOP frontrunner Donald Trump to drop out of the race if he fails to clinch a majority in his home state primary later this month.
“If he doesn’t get over 50 percent, he should probably consider dropping out, like everyone else has when they don’t win their home state in a dramatic fashion,” Cruz campaign manager Jeff Roe said in an interview on ABC News’ “Powerhouse Politics” podcast Thursday.
While quipping that he doesn’t expect the GOP frontrunner to take his advice, Roe also acknowledged that Trump is the “huge favorite” headed into the New York primary and that it is an “away game” for Cruz, who did little to invite the New York vote when earlier in the campaign cycle he criticized Trump for having “New York values.”
“I’m assuming Donald is very strong in his home state,” Roe said.
Still, Roe said the campaign sees a path for Cruz to walk away with at least some delegates from the Empire State...

Cruz will be mathematically eliminated if and when Trump wins 1,237 delegates.
I realize that Trump supporters desperately want Cruz to drop out so that it will be possible for Trump to get 1,237 delegates, but that is not going to happen.
Esp. since he will be mathematically eliminated from getting 1237.
Will you support him as the nominee?
The fact that Texans would vote for minor candidates shows how much distrust they have for him.
Jeff Roe is the same guy who declared, in previous campaigns he's worked on, that opposing candidates were "dropping out" at the last minute. Even drove a guy to suicide with his deception. Cruz is playing an evil game with evil people.
Unfortunately, his supporters see him as a brilliant strategist for doing this. They are also part of the problem ... with Cruz, the political gravy train will continue.
Cruz already eliminated since he requires 80 or so percent of remaining delegates in order to win, and can only afford to lose 30 or so delegates. Not even his stealing of delegates is going right. I spoke to delegates in Arizona who reported that all Trump's people got through, many of whom, including himself, posed as Cruz supporters so as not to be locked out.
You do understand that so far more people have voted for Hillary than have voted for Trump, even thought nearly twice as many people have voted in the Republican primaries.
Are you math challenged?
There are these things called rules, which were put in place before the race began. The rules say that the first candidate that wins 1,237 delegates gets the nomination, whether that occurs before or after the convention begins. The rules do not say that whichever candidate gets a plurality lead of 37% of the vote during the early primaries (when there are a dozen candidates splitting the vote) gets the nomination and all the other candidates have to drop out and pledge their fealty to him.
Are you also reality challenged?
I realize things are slow around your house and you spend most of your waking hours posting threads unfavorable to Trump, along with a consortium of your peers here at FR, perhaps thriving on the attention and the chance to conduct keyboard commando operations on respondents, but to post something so absurd... is to draw in the most reluctant of freepers, to include myself, knowing full well that it’s a complete waste of time- but dude, you might consider the idea of taking up a hobby or give some time to a charitable organization in your area, if- for no other reason than for the sanctity of your mental health.
I rarely brag about myself, but in review- that is one of the best single sentences I have ever compiled here at FR. For that- I am grateful and thank you from the bottom of my heart.
You, and your fellow travelers- are about to get some bad news when the unwashed masses pull the lever for Trump, over and over and over again, putting an apostrophe on the GOP Convention in 2016.

Hillary is in a 2 man race, and Democratic turnout is historically very low in comparison to previous elections. Trump's popular vote surpasses Romney last go around, and is only 3 million short of Romney's total votes at the conclusion of the primary.

In 2012, delegates needed was only 1114. Rule is arbitrary and decided by GOPe post-Romney.
1237 FIRST, is the goal. It isn’t the end of the month, or any month. It is 1237 on the last ballot at the national convention in July in Cleveland. It may be Trump, it may be Cruz, or it may be another. But, again, it is the first to 1237 on the floor of the convention on the last ballot. It may take more than one.
And really, there is no need, or benefit, to lowering yourself by calling names and making baseless charges. You would be better served by supporting your “man” with words or dollars. The nomination will be won or lost at the convention.

What is more interesting is Cruz could not get half the people who put him in the Senate just 2 years ago to vote for him. Once his Canadian citizenship fiasco came out ... many Texans spit him out of their mouth.
So Trump is going to have to resort to Democrat tactics and get supporters to vote over and over and over again? How many of those voters are going to be dead people?

This aint Wisconsin where the machines switch Trump to Cruz.
That is all psychological sniping. By saying that, the suggestions are made that Trump is in trouble, cannot win New York, that Cruz is really the strong one because he suggested it first, etc.
Cruz likes that sort of thing. He’s trying to be macho. His elevated cowboy boots have affected his thinking. Delusional. It won’t work.
We all knew how that one turned out...
