-—Thank goodness. Now, if he would only do the right thing and drop out.-—

Why would Cruz drop out when Trump is not at 1,237...?

Soft of like the super bowl team quitting in the third qtr only behind by 10 points...

Then he is nothing more than a troll.

And people that back this nonsense are enablers.

Wrong sports analogy. A more apt one is with baseball in which they don’t bother playing the bottom of the ninth when the batting team is ahead. The outcome has already been determined so no need to run up the score.

Even if Trump only has 1100 delegates, then Cruz will only have around 850. Trump still wins as he’ll be in the driver’s seat to negetiate for whatever unbound delegates he needs for first ballot victory.

The notion that Trump falls just short of 1237 and gets stuck there while somebody with hundreds of delegates less shoots past him is absurd.

His ace in the hole to claim the veep slot.

Personally, I think 2 old white guys is bad optics, and that Jan Brewer would look much better there.

Stick a fork in it. It's over.

With such reality, all discussion of a second ballot needs to end today. Pointless and going nowhere. Trump has two rallies today. My prediction, he moves full bore onto Corrupt Hillary, putting the GOPe in the rear view mirror.

We finally have a true conservative to vote for, and Republicans go for a carnival barker. tRump never even mentions things like—reducing the size of government, a balanced budget amendment, federalism and the tenth amendment, liberty, the constitution, free markets, traditional marriage and the family, or repudiating his liberal past. Why does he spend more time making personal attacks than explaining policy details?

The weird part was his saying that ‘America is always best when she has found herself flat on her back’

I took it to be a reference to events like Pearl Harbor.

Denying Trump is not a good enough reason to continue in the race.

Cruz will become more hated everyday he stays in the race.

It is no longer about him winning, but trying to keep Trump
from winning. Not a good enough reason to continue.

Cruz is a Dead Ender and so are you. It will become more clear
to you soon.

Also keep in mind that up until a few weeks ago Cruz said Trump should get out of the race if the doesn’t get a majority in the NY primary.

Of course, this comment was made when Cruz and Preibus were still working the Diebold machines pretty heavy. Wonder what they paid the hackers? Whatever it was, turns out to just be more money thrown down the anti-Trump hole this election cycle.

Candidates don't stay in just to block the front runner and force a convention fight, which weakens the Party.

That's my view as well. Staying in when you've been eliminated is being purposefully divisive and will only serve to put Hillary in the White House - if she can get there before she gets to jail.

Cruz is not a true conservative. He’s a huckster who talks a good game. I invite you to watch a Trump rally and after you listen, decide for yourself if he’s conservative or not.

Not in states that cancel the elections or don’t want the voters to vote.

Even if Trump only has 1100 delegates, then Cruz will only have around 850.

Cruz with 850 may also be a false meme. Kasich may be picking up more delegates than Cruz going forward, which is almost comical given that he has not yet reached 150.

All "second round" conversation became moot last night. It will just take a few days for that reality to set in. Trump is the 2016 Republican nominee.

It smacks of a scorched earth policy.

The Pubs nationally have officially sanctiioned scorched earth for this cycle, thus proving they care little for their party and/or its ‘unification’...

They have every reason to think they cannot win in November, and view the upcoming convention battle as a justifiable response to an unthinkable outcome; the loss of insider influence...

Real question is how far down the road does the scorched earth go...

Cruz will win on second ballot. Trump know this. That’s why he is so hysterical. Claiming every election he doesn’t win is rigged.

I’d not thought of her but she looks interesting.

There are only only two issues I see right off the bat that demodogs would harp on with her:

1. She does not have a university degree. They’d try and call her dumb - though they’ll probably do that anyway.

2. She was born in 1944. 2016-1944=72 She might be a bit old

Until Trump gets to 1237 no one has won. It will be a contested convention. Cruz wins on second ballot.

Cruz for all intents and purposes, has been out of the hunt since the first Super Tuesday. His inability to win any states that have been DEM locks in previous general elections, and Trump’s ability to flip them, and win states all along the gamut (NY, Mississippi, Nevada) along with the fact he has energized the Rep electorate speaks volumes as to why Cruz should drop out. Cruz does not have to, but he should realize, when they talk about who “destroyed” the Republicans chances to capture the WH, it will not be Trump...it will be Ted.

Yes, but it leaves one with an unusual, if not weird, visual.
