He is running for the presidency of the United States.
In order to win, he is going to have to attract millions of votes from people who "hate" him, or at least dislike him.
If he goes into election day with only the votes of those who are now diehard Trump supporters, he'll lose, and lose badly.
For that reason, I am not going to badmouth anyone who is at least a potential voter for Trump.

I had my chance to respond (see un-striked text above) "historically," when your posted articles were nonstop negative Trump, now- not so much.
My comment should have been something like "the author's smarminess is shining through."
