Could the two most ferocious Republican presidential candidates in a generation put aside their very personal differences and unite for the good of the country? Thats what the communications director for the one who lost said in an Independence Day appearance on CNN.
I think were looking at someone like Newt Gingrich or possibly Chris Christie, Alice Stewart, Sen. Ted Cruzs ex-communications director from his 2016 GOP presidential bid, said on CNN when asked whom she thinks presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump will pick as his vice president.
But as to who would be best for Trump in a general election against presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Rodham Clinton, Stewart pushed her old boss Cruz for the job....

still a natural born Canadian.....does it take an advanced degree to understand?
It could happen. Trump is a very pragmatic person. However, Cruz fragging Trump for the dems makes it impossible to trust Cruz.
Lying Ted...Man of Steal.
See post #10.
How about Pablo Cruise? Smooth California rock for VP!
If he knew he screwed up, he would have endorsed a long time ago and resumed being an adult. Instead, he’s continuing his silent tantrum in the hopes he can take out Hillary in 2020.
Cruz is having tantrums......that nails it.
DU doesn’t know about this yet.... why’d they trial-ballon it at Breitbart, of all places?
No. His position has changed. Are you really that dense?
1. I think that there is too much bad blood between them, even if there were no other issues.
2. DJT made a big deal of Ted not being eligible. It’d make him look like he either doesn’t know what he’s talking about, or like a liar, if he chose Ted.
3. Ted said and did some pretty off-the-wall things. DJT doesn’t need those ads diluting his message.
4. Ted is very much a part of the Cheap Labor Express, despite coming out (after Trump) as a hard-liner on immigration. He’s still a softy on trade. Trump can’t have someone like that ready to step into his shoes.
5. What does Cruz really bring? Not Texas, that’s for sure...it is already going to Trump. A relatively few “conservatives,” many of whom (NOT all by any stretch) have shown themselves to be CINOs, and would rather see Hillary elected than Trump? Nah, not worth it. I still wouldn’t mind seeing Cruz given some role in the administration, IF he’ll man-up and endorse Trump. Until then, he’s not a team player, and not someone that Trump can pick.
Maybe this could have worked up until shortly after Super Tuesday, when Cruz probably should have left after making a great bargain for himself. But not now.
I became a staunch Trump supporter just about 53 weeks ago.
If he were to choose Cruz as his running mate, I would drop him like a hot potato.
Cruz is one of the slimiest politicians to ever come upon the scene in my memory.
No, No, and No. More like, hell no.
BS flag on the play....
And by that time she will have appointed at least 2 Justices, so Ted would be president of a third world country, but hey, it’s all about him, right?
Ah,....NO!
God no.
Trump will probably pick a someone on the Center-Left who kisses up to his ego. For example, Chris Christie.
But a Conservative would be the smart choice.
