She will not step down she could die tomorrow and will still win the election. Case in point, the idiots in Missouri elected a dead man to the Senate a while back. His wife took his seat. Hows that for a nightmare, Bill Clinton as president again.

"The idiots in Missouri" as you say, were following the State Constitution. Oddly enough.
Ballots could not be changed after a certain date.
