The campaign money is a slush fund. Most likely, the payments are legal. There are laws about what campaign money can be spent on. This is one reason, probably THE reason, Weiner ran for Mayor of NY. He had five million dollars in campaign cash and the only way he could spend it was to run for office. As I understand it, you can buy things for your campaign, like an office or a car. Then, you own it and can use it as you wish. I suspect the laws don’t cover cronies continuing to get paid long after the campaign is over. But she obviously has the money. The only other thing she could do with it is gift it to another politician. As far as Hillary is concerned, money given to anybody else would be wasted.

I’ve read the permissible uses for campaign donations before. Hillary’s answer would be....well the law doesn’t say I can’t retain my staff and continue to pay them so....I thought it was ok. And she’d be right even though it’s really not right. Lol
