"We aren't trying to interfere in the internal politics of the United States, but the new governor should know that whatever violation or setback to the rights of Mexicans living in California will be denounced in the Mexican Congress." ...and?

The Republican Party needs to talk about this issue. They've slammed the door in our face so much, they are not interested, but there's too many of us that realize the threat now.
I have my theories, 20 years ago it wasn't this bad, the Republican Party was more into un-pc stuff. Unfortunately they've listened to the DEMOCRATS about political correctness and they're STUCK there!
You know, while I was traveling to Yosemite on the highway there are only Hispanics in the fields. I wonder why, it's not like we don't have poor people born here who can do the same work, earn a living. In Europe Mexicans don't do their produce, their lettuce. Who does it? Europeans.
Well? It's time to have Americans in the fields picking the produce. At this point I don't care if the gov't finances it (ie, giving Americans living wages out there), but the work needs to be done, so why not? Instead of giving money to every other country in the world we can do it at home, where it's needed.
My own husband picked fruit in England btw, so it can be done by Americans.
Anyways, back to my main point, which is that Republicans are going to have to listen to us, or face lower poll numbers.

And FWIW Mexico, home of some of the worst movies ever made, had no business whatsoever criticizing Arnold as an actor! ;) You got that right. However, Mexican movies have a LOT of good looking women, and for a very strange period in my life, I rented Spanish language movies just to watch the scenery, if you know what I mean and I think you do.

I would agree with every word of that post with the exception of "cactusbacks."

"This is something about which Mexican migrants should be very concerned," said Rep. Carlos Jiménez, secretary of the foreign relations committee in Mexico's lower house of Congress. The Mexican congressman is trying to threaten the Mexican migrants ---- but what these elites really really fear is the day the migrants no longer can leave. Then there will be pent up rage released onto the filthy elites who have abused the majority and kept them poverty stricken for centuries and now finally have made sure they lose everything. The majority --- when they have no other route will revolt and overthrow the corrupt oligarchs --- who then will flee to Spain and other parts of Europe and some to South America --- but they'll be cut off from that huge money-making scheme they call Mexico.

It would almost be unfair for us to attack Mexico --- it would be so easy. For one, most of their fighting age men are here in the USA, the effete elites, the sissy-boy wealthy of Mexico could nor would ever defend their country --- if any Mexicans even acted like they'd fight against us --- all we have to do is hint we might give amnesty to deserters --- and they'll all be swarming to our side. There are huge oil reserves that would make it worth taking though.

Maybe Carter could be the fourth member of the Dixie Chicks.

I don't think the movies are that bad --- the Almada brothers have some good western-type movies with great scenery that I think are as good as US westerns.

Good posts
Not much anti-Gringo rebuttal on this thread
Someone made a good comment re Baja California on a thread recently.
Offered allowing American citizens who might be hispanics be allowed to own and develop businesses there under the same free enterprise and property rights as in America.
Stated that Baja could bloom just like California has, not just turning into wastelands at the border.
Good thinking, unique challenge to Mexico.

Well Arnold is already doing something right.
You are falling for the oldest trick in the world - a diversion. This is simply another ritual Mexican government statement about our alleged duties towards its illegal invading citizens, designed in part to give the false impression that Arnie is some kind of anti-immigration American patriot.
Like hell. Arnie never raised the issue. He's a liberal on this issue, as on others.
The Mexican government isn't "worried" about Arnie. Arnie isn't doing "something right"; he in fact hasn't done anything yet at all. But you'll be waiting until the End of Days for Arnie to do something about illegal immigration, cause it ain't gonna happen.

Great cartoon.
I believe Carter was the worst president in modern history -- he did more damage to the country and the world, than anyone else, by far.
His handling of Iran gave rise to the modern day Islamofacist revival. He undermined and refused to help the Shah of Iran, our best friend in the Arab region, and got the Ayatolla.

What's with the accent on México? In English, it's just Mexico. No accent! We don't say Méxicans, so why say México? And especially México City. That looks ridiculous! It's not called "Mexico City" or "México City" in Spanish, so what's with this hybrid thing?
And don't tell me the Mexicans write it with an accent. We don't call Germany Deutschland, Sweden Sverige or Belgium Belgique or België.
Oh, and I think it's really weird when people try to pronounce countries with a foreign accent. Like Chee-lay or Nicaragua. Pronounce them like you're speaking English! How do these people pronounce France!
No accénts
