The only difference as I see it is that his brain still functions normally, unlike MS. Otherwise I see no difference between the two cases.

Re: Chris Reeves. On that point, if Robin Williams hadn't stepped up to the plate and offered to pay for Reeves' care (at the beginning it was said to cost $400,000 per year) then Reeves himself would be in a bind. I don't think he had quite the money Williams does.

He may not have gotten the therapy he needed, which is what happened to Terri. He might just be lying there in a bed unable to speak at this point too.

Au contraire. He's had the best that money can buy, including regular, aggressive therapy to keep him from deteriorating faster. People rallied to help him and came up with the money and probably still do.
