There is not enough pancake left in the world to close those cracks in his ugly mug!
Vehicle stopped at Angeles Oaks on 18 but not sure why

Does a Northwest wind mean "blowing in the northwest direction" or from the northwest direction? Wind is always reported by the direction it is coming from. So a Northwest wind is blowing Southeast.
(The exception is when they speak of onshore or offshore winds. Those are the directions the winds are blowing, not where they are coming from.)

Can anyone tell me if one of the fires burning around Oceanside area is in the area of Vista??? If not, what fires/names of fires are burning near Oceanside? Thanks.
To: viaveritasvita
Unfortunately, CHP site is down (again).....I'll keep checking.

I have relatives in Vista, near E. Vista Way off the 76.

Some kind of wood-boring beetles. I've seen one or two of them in my backyard from time to time. They look for wood they can bore into. The things are large, black, with roundish bodies, and they make a loud buzzing sound when they fly.
Here's a link to a University of California page that gives details about them.

It does, due to that strange, ghostly orange haze that fires and smoke cast.

That was a mild one. The bigger one comes later! Well we still had a few 'screamers' at work. Fortunately I wasn't one of them. :-)
