I'm in Hotlanta. I have ZERO chance of seeing ANYTHING.
EVER.Not necessarily true, though you might have a tougher time in the city. Check out this space news from November of 2001...when we all had a lot more important stuff on our minds, of course:
NORTHERN LIGHTS IN CALIFORNIA - November 5 2001: A fast-moving coronal mass ejection billowed away from the Sun on November 4 and swept past our planet on the following day. The impact triggered a severe geomagnetic storm and widespread red Aurorae - reaching as far south as Florida, Texas and California in the United States. Northern Lights are rarely seen at low latitudes occurring only 3 - 4 times within the 11-year solar cycle.

Hard to have 10,000 as support when the dow is around 9,770. Remember resistance is above/support is below. I think you overlook the strength of the momentum established by the Bush Recovery and the tax cuts.

I'm not happy about this. We're all going to get cancer and die. I recommend reproducing as quickly as possible to maintain the human race.

Since everything on this planet is evil, I suspect all of you will see the Aurora but there will be a tiny cloud preventing me from seeing s**t.
Then I'll discover I was standing on a fire ant mound.

Hard to say. I'm a night owl, and go outside with my smokes and coffee at various times, and especially for things like the meteor showers and this. Just happened on this thread, (linked below), went out, and there it was. John H K's comments on the magnetic field might give you ideas about how far South it might come.

when this aurora can be seen Look when it's relatively dark. The aurora is usually located in a ring around the arctic circle more or less, but this one is diffuse and may be visible in the southerly latitudes. It is not an impressive aurora even though it has red because it is diffuse not dancing.

I work at a company that does high accuracy differential GPS work (usually less than 1 meter error). We've seen some huge jumps today. One just reported in Kansas of 75 meters.

Invest in the company that makes Aurora bathroom tissue.

That's interesting. We get jumps that size all the time. Is this due to solar flares?

If the status of the storm can stay the way it is for another hour, east coasters are going to be blown away by this aurora.....

Incredible! I hope to see something this time. We were clouded out in northern Illinois last night.

Damn these clouds! If they don't clear, I'll drive a hundred miles west and get a look tonight.

Right now the Auroral oval is OVER New York City... What are you basing that on? Can you provide a link?

Is there a link for satellite aurora images? The aurora was big but not impressive this morning.

Where do you get tin foil anyway? All I've been able to find is that cheap aluminium cr*p. (Which is why I only allow my family out of the bomb shelter at night.)
