UPDATED: 2:07 p.m. EST October 30, 2003 Early reports say the man had the gun in a backpack.. Sources say at least one security guard saw the gun as it passed through metal detectors, but the man still managed to pick up his backpack and ran off.
Police are conducting a systematic search, floor by floor. Meanwhile, Capitol staffers have been told to lock their offices. The building is under a lockdown. People are allowed to leave the building, but they are being searched as they leave. No one is allowed to enter the building.

Sorry, but FNC is a news lightweight. Brit Hume's show is the best in the business, Cavuto is good, but what else do they have? CNN kicks their butt in news quality and thoroughness. If CNN was balanced and included the conservative side of political issues, FNC's viewership would drop in half.
