Again, the godsquad is out spinning...

The point is, what he's doing is crude and in most cases would be considered 'common law marriage' (by definition). regardless of the law in Florida, the phrase was meant to illustrate the situation, very likely not meant to say that Florida considered them married. Because I'm sure we are all certain Florida doesn't allow bigamy either.
